He loved his older sister. He loved her to pieces. She was his first memory and his superhero.
She told him really cool stories and gave really nice hugs. She also made the most delicious breakfasts.
So although she was a girl and although she didn't have enough energy to play games with him all the time, she was still his favorite person.
So he hated it when she had to leave for long periods of time and especially when she moved for university and her acting career.
Yes, they talked every week but she still wasn't right there. He couldn't surprise her with the weird bug he had found the other day or put random fruits and vegetables in a blender and make her drink his mystery smoothie.
It wasn't so bad though.
She would send postcards and little cool knickknacks from the places she travelled. He had them all displayed on his wall.
Then one day she came home to visit and she brought someone with her.
It was to be one of the best days of his life, he just didn't know it at the time.
He didn't know how to feel about this guy who was holding hands with his sister. He was tall, taller then anyone he had ever seen with black hair and bright brown eyes. His sister introduced him as her boyfriend. She told them how they met while they were both in Shanghai working on her next project, something they starred in together. She told them that they really liked one another and had been dating for a couple months now. She said that she thought that this trip home would be a great way to introduce him to them. Her boyfriend was polite towards his parents (they seemed to like him) but generally stuck to her side.
He had heard from his other friends who had older sisters what happened once they brought boyfriends home. They all told him that their older sisters would ignore them more often or be downright mean and that the boyfriends would take away all their time.
He didn't want that to happen. He didn't want this guy to steal his sister away from him. He barely got to see her as it was!
But then, he noticed him. He came over to where he was hiding in the corner and kneeled down so that they would be more eye level.
"Hi, you must be YueYue's brother. I have heard so much about you!"
He blinked. He blinked again.
Really?
Her boyfriend must have seen the doubt on his face because he added,
"You are the person I've been the most excited to meet. Your sister talks about you all the time. I'm Wang He Di but you can call me Dylan if you'd like."
Dylan... it sounded like such a cool name.
"Do you want to play?" He said holding his hand out.
He found himself eagerly nodding as he grabbed Dylan's hand and he lifted him from the ground.
"What do you want to play?" Dylan asked him.
"Shouldn't you be with my sister right now?" He asked, not fully able to believe that this guy was about to play with him.
"She really missed your parents so I'm just giving them time to catch up. During this time, I wanted to hang out with you" He said with a grin.
So he perked up and started chattering about all his favorite games as he lead him to his room.
And that was just the beginning of it.
