After we finally got out of the house and got away from my mother who kept on insisting on talking to Ricky. We walked down our driveway, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw some girls gawking at Ricky. I looked at Ricky, taking in his appearance, my eyes moving from his head to his toes(just checking him out). And well, I had to admit: He looked gorgeous. I haven't seen anyone, not even an Abercrombie model, look that good. He was wearing a fit polo shirt with some fitted jeans and some cool pair of shoes. Even though I know absolutely nothing about shoes, I knew that that pair was expensive.
We got into his car, which was a black Mercedes and it was a sweet ride. He opened the door for me like a gentleman and I did one of those little curtsies as a joke. We both smiled widely at each other before I got in. He got in, too and started up the engine, reversed the car back, and pulling out of the curb after backing up a bit.
“ Sooooo... Where are we going?” I asked as soon as we drove out of my neighbourhood
“Oh, we are going to me house!” he said happily. He looked like a little kid high on sugar, which was cute in a cool way. Yeap, only he can pull it off and not look stupid. However, I, on the other hand, well, that’s a different story.
“Ahh, I see… So was there any particular reason you came to my house?” I asked, curiosity got the best of me. I knew I shouldn’t have asked but I was curious.
“Well, I just wanted to see you and hang out.” He said with his famous smile.
“Awww, soo sweet” I joked, sticking my tongue out at him. He grinned as he glanced at me from the corner of his eye.
“Hahaha yeap only for you, my darling Avery.” He also joked. And the whole ride we just kept going at it.
After at least an hour, we finally got to his house. When we pulled up, we passed one of those roads where trees are all on either side of the road, making you feel like they're welcoming you or something. You know like the ones in the movies. After passing thorugh that, we stopped in front of a huge gate. Ricky told the machine the password, and the gates opened by themselves. I was gobsmacked, my mouth dropping a bit as I saw the massive cement structure in front of us.
That is some house! I 'm not sure if I could even call it a house!
When we got to the front of the mansion, a man in a uniform came. Ricky pulled me out of the car as the man stepped in the car. I was still staring at the mansion, still with my mouth dropped, as the man drove out of the driveway andparked the car somewhere. I just stared at his house. It was beautiful. If the outside was beautiful, I wonder what the inside looked like.
We went in and I instantly fell in love with the house. Everything was pure white, and a delicate flower vase sat by the corner of the big lobby-like room. I wish I could live here. Before I can even admire it even more, Ricky called to me and he was already at the top of the grand staircase, waiting for me.
After running up to him I was already tired.
"Why do you have such a long and big staircase?" I mean going up and down those stairs can actually be a good work out. He replied with a chuckle.
There were many rooms and stuff and we went into an elevator.
“Where are we going?” I asked him.
“You’ll see.” he replied mysteriously, a smile hanging off his face.
There were many floors in this one house, I mean it was a mansion. I don't think I should be surprised but I was. I was shocked to find that there was a total of 23 floors. We went to the 23rd floor and the door opened up to reveal the rooftop. And what really surprised me was that there was a helicopter there waiting for us.
A real helicopter! I swear my mouth dropped to the ground right there and then.
Ricky whispered something to the pilot as we stepped in. As I was still speechless and frozen at the moment, the pilot nodded at Ricky and we were off.
The air was brushing across my face and my hair flitted around the small room. I relished the scent and feel of the breeze on my face as we passed by the sea. I felt like I was flying!
“Wow! I’m on a helicopter!” I exclaimed, “But wait, I’m afraid of heights.” I frowned a bit. I should've thought of that sooner, shoudn't I?
He just laughed at me. “Don’t worry I’ll be there to catch you when you fall” he said sincerely, smiling a bit as I turned around to look at him from the sight outside the small room.
I flushed. That was so sweet. “ Hahaha thanks! Hey, I didn’t know you were rich!” I grinned at him as I tried to cover my red face with my whirling hair.
“Yeah we are. And since you just came to my house, you now know we're rich.” he said, grinning crookedly.
“Do you have any siblings?” I asked him, turning towards the sea again, the smile still on my face as I watched, awed, at the fantastic view.
“Well no, I don’t, umm... They actually died in a car crash on their way to school.” His voice was only a whisper at the end of the sentence. I froze and turned my head to him slowly. As I saw his eyes lose that radiant shine, I could tell he was sad and instantly felt guilty for reminding him of the past.
“I am so sorry!” My mouth moved quickly as I felt a deep remorse for him.
“No, no. It’s fine. You didn’t know.” He gave me a weak smile, which I knew was the only thing I could get from that moment.
The rest of the ride was a bit awkward. But then the pilot announced that we are going to land soon and I was excited to see where we were.
