Ricky's POV
I was having a bad day. Heck, I bet I'm going to have bad days everyday. I have to wake up knowing that Avery would be happy with some other guy. I guess I should be happy because if she were with me, she would never be. I'm not being clear right now. So let me start from the begginning...
"Ricky! Pleease come down here, your father and I wish to speak with you," my mother called from downstairs.
"I'm busy!" I yelled down to her. Yeah, I'm just childish like that.
"This is important young man! You better come down here or I am taking your Porsche away!" My mom threatened. I guess I have lost this battle. I can always text Avery afterwards.
"Fine. I'm coming!" Don't get your knickers up in a twist! I murmured to myself as I decended down the never ending flight of stairs.
As I got to the "family" room, I saw my dad lounging on the recliner and my mom sitting calmly on the sofa. That's a first. I have never seen dad this free before. Wait, let me think back awhile. Yeap never.
"Son, we need to talk to you," my dad said to me when he saw me. I looked over at my mom who was looking at me hopefully and smilling widely. Unusual things are happening right now, and it's starting to freak me out.
"Yes?" I replied, quite unsure of what's happening. What if they're aliens and are trying to abduct me?
"Well, I wish to make our company grow and we decided to merge companies with my colleague, you are getting married to their daughter." Wow. My jaw just dropped right there and then. Did I hear my dad properly?
"I'm sorry but no can do, pops." I replied smoothly, trying to mask my rapidly beating heart.
"And why is that?" my father replied calmly but if you knew him like I do, you can tell that if you made just one wrong move, you are pretty much doomed.
"Because I'm not old enough and you can't dump all this responsibility on me!" And I'm in love with this utterly amazing girl. I added to myself quietly But I have a feeling my mother heard. My father on the other hand didnt want to hear any of it.
"YOU ARE GOING TO MARRY HER AND THAT IS IT END OF DISCUSSION. NOW GO TO YOUR ROOM!" He yelled. Told you
"Fine." I wouldve put a fight but well, I was going to be smart this time. Because this time I have a lot at stake . This time... I might be losing Avery.
present...
*sigh
Why does this happen to me?
Pop!
Why doesn't my dad want me to be happy for once in my life?
Pop!
As I ran out of balloons to pop and vent my anger out on, I started pacing the room. I had a 'date' with my new 'fiance' in a while. I didn't even know who this girl was!
Knock Knock
"Come in!" I said, very troubled.
"Sir Ricky, your date is here," my maid called into the room
"Yeah, yeah. Tell her I'll be there in a while!" I said, dismissing her and she left. I could've sworn I heard her release a breath of relief.
I waited a good 10 minutes before going to meet this supposedly wonderful, young lady. But I know that every girl I see would dim in comparison next to Avery.
I walked down to see a girl about my age and she was pretty. I'm sure if I still hadn't met Avery, I would have gone gaga over her. But well, right now, all I'm thinking of is Avery instead of jumping on this fine specimen. Hey, I am a dude, okay?
"Hello, let's go" I said rudely, pulling her off into my car.
The ride was silent until she decided to break the ice.
"I know you don't like me. And I also know that you are in love with someone else," she said suddenly.
"How?" I asked, not taking my eyes off the road.
"Because I know that look. Most guys would drool but you, you just shrugged me off," she said nonchalantly.
"So? What can we do about it?" I asked her, still being rude.
"Well, I kind of like someone else too!" she suddenly exclaimed and don't blame me but I was starting to like this girl.
"Oh.. Well, what's your name?" I gotta say, my ego was bruised there for a moment.
"The name is Amelia. Nice to meet you.. uhh..." she said, trailing off at the end.
"Ricky," I said, turning to smile at her. Whoever she liked must be very lucky.
"Well then, Ricky, wanna work together to try to break this little thing up?" she asked, hopefully.
"Yes," I said without the slightest hesitation. Yeah... I am totally whipped.
"Well then... let's get planning!" she said with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
And with that, we reached our restaurant and decided to plan over lunch.
