Chapter 5

A/n Sorry I haven't posted I had a Spanish quiz and test that I had to study for. Without further ado here's chapter five.

Rantaro p.o.v.

Second week huh? I can't believe Shuichi is still pissed at the gremlin. Honestly I can't blame him but I could tell that it hurt Kokichi. I need to go to class but I'm stuck with Tenko, Angie, and Himiko so I go sit in the back with Kiyo. "Math had been around since ancient times, you know. Humanity never ceases to amaze me." Bad idea.

Lunch time

"Hey, Shuichi!"
"Hi, Rantaro wanna did with me today?"
"Yeah, I was just about to ask the same thing."
"The roof?"
"Of course."

We walk up to the roof and I spot Kokichi alone legs dangling off the side like wet spaghetti.

"Uh Shuichi hold on a second."
"Oh, ok."

I walk over to him with a bottle of Panta in my hand.

"Whatever you're thinking, don't jump I'm about to fix things."

I put the Panta by his side and headed back to Shuichi.

"I'm back and I need to tell you something."
"Is it about Kokichi? If so I don't really want to hear it."
"I know, I know, but last year he wanted me to tell you this. You might want to sit down. Since first year he kind of had... has a massive crush-"
"Why should I care?"
"You really are one blind detective, aren't you?"
"What am I missing here?"
"His crush."
"What about it?"
"It's on you."
"Oh...... WAIT WHAT!?!?"
"Geez dude lower your voice."
"Sorry I just-"
"Well are you gonna do anything about it?"
"This certainly changes things, but it'll take some time before I can trust him again."

The next five minutes feel like an eternity until I hear footsteps. I look up and it's Kokichi. He looks at me and mouths the words "Thank you" before looking Shuichi in the eyes and tackle-hugging him. As soon as he made contact he started apologizing a million times a second l. Shuichi still stunned placed his hand on Kokichi's back rubbing circles on it.

"I can't ever forget what you did but but maybe I'll forgive you. Just don't pull that stupid stunt ever again, okay?"

From the crook of Shuichi's neck I hear the small boy mumble

"Thank you, Saihara-chan."

I'll leave them be. I start to walk away before I hear Shuichi squeeze the words "H-help me." I look back and the Panta gremlin is squeezing Shuichi like a snake would constrict it's prey. I let out a chuckle before warning Kokichi that he might squeeze the life outta Shuichi."
