A/n I'm so done with this story once thirty chapters hits I'm done sorry if y'all want more but it's gotten to the point where I'm not even enjoying writing this like these past few chapters have been so shitty and I ugh so yeah fucking here's the chap

Kokichi pov

I wake up and hop out of bed going downstairs and making breakfast.

"Ah, good morning Kokichi."
"Morning."

I don't give her a full response sleep still in my system.

"About my office..."
"Right, I should clean it, huh."
"Well I was thinking perhaps we could close it off completely. After all I still have quite a lot of funds and there's quite a few empty rooms."
"You mean like make it so there's no room there. Like take off the door and add some sheet rock or?"
"Something like that, yes."
"Food is almost ready. Can you go get Shu, he's probably dead asleep right now."
"Of course, your room is?"
"Labeled. Door's open."

I turn and watch my mother walk up the stairs. Even if it's only been two years seeing her just feels... off. I can't put my finger on it but I don't like it. She's too different.

I plate our breakfasts of simple omelettes and take a seat and soon enough my mother and boyfriend show their faces. Shumai rubs his eyes still waking himself up. I hand him an iced coffee.

"Here this'll help wake you up."
"Thanks hun." He mumbles into my hair kissing the top of my head. Earning a snicker from my mother.
"What's so funny?"
"My apologies but it's been a long time since I've seen you happy. Truthfully happy."
"Yeah I found someone who I didn't have to lie to, it's really refreshing." I watch as he sits down, a smile gracing my lips.
"Kichi is really cool, his food is good too."
"Shumai your tired just drink your coffee and don't bother with social interactions."
"Mmmmkay."
"You two seem a perfect match for each other. Now, I have to go to work see you two this afternoon, okay?"
"Sounds good, bye mom!"

She tied her hair up in a bun grabbed her bag and head out. Once a business woman, always a business woman. Shuichi yawned and I let a small giggle escape.

"Whyreyoulaughing?" His words were slurred only making me laugh harder.
"Because of how tired you are I mean seriously did you get sleep?"
"Yeah, one hour."
"The fuck? I thought you went to sleep when I did."
"I did, then woke up fifteen minutes later and couldn't get back to sleep until forty-five minutes before I woke up." He explained and sipped his coffee, the caffeine already entering his bloodstream. (Don't ask okay)

The day was pretty lazy due to the fact that DICE had to cancel our afternoon tea. Me and Shu just cuddled on the couch and watched movies. It was boring but really needed between the two of us. I enjoyed it and by his subtle smile I could tell he did too.
