Barely spring has begun, the sun beams through the tree leaves of where and my brother lay; the bare wood just barely under our bodies.
I slowly get up to stretch, my tail swaying side to side, and my ears twitching on my head. I dust off my ragged dress, and put on my dusty shoes. I walk over to my brother and shake him, trying to wake him up.
"Milo, wake up" as I furiously shake him awake, just in a joking manner.
"Noooooo, leave me alone" he replies and turns his body over to the other side.
"I'll cook breakfast if you get up" I smile, knowing that my brother loves my cooking. His body shoots up and he begins to stretch.
"Fine, I'll wake up, but only for the food" he smiles as well and gives me a hug.
Mornings are difficult for the both of us, we're alone together in the forest, with no one to help us. After that one night, Milo and I had to go into hiding, hide away our existence completely.
Maybe forever, but who knows.
I begin my climb down the tree, the branches just barely scratching the surface of my skin and the leave shaking with every jump. I look in all directions, checking to see if there is anyone near by, even though not many people pass by the tree, you can never be too careful for threats like humans. I find hole in the base of the tree, buried inside is a small cloak, fitting around me to keep me warm. I stop for a second and hear a rabbit sitting peacefully in the grass, its long ears and attentive eyes knew I was present, and yet it hadn't moved yet. However I did, moving closer and very slowly being sure I wouldn't loose it.
Before I could even take a leap at it, a small rustling noise I heard on my left side; hiding with a pointed object at the end, aiming right at the rabbit.
A male Meif'wa, one with purple stripped ears and tail, wielding a bow at hand aiming at the rabbit. He seemed to struggle to even hold the bow, and kept breaking every tiny branch below his feet. I didn't want to loose a good breakfast, knowing that the Meif'wa was just about to take it. I quickly turn to my wolf form, I jump and kill the rabbit first before he shoots; but even then the Meif'wa took the shot.
Within a second I had a dead rabbit in my jaws, and an aching pain in my hind leg. I look over and see that Meif'wa was in shock, his look of concern now on his face.
He seemed that he wanted to cry that second.
Regardless, I was now in pain, and even worse I was weakened completely vulnerable to Meif'wa hunter. Despite everything, I'm sure he'll skin me for my fur, or even try to take me back as his own meal. I can't return to my human form either to let him know I'm a werewolf, this is the worst luck I've gotten
About a couple more seconds to be before he began to move slower to me.
He slowly started walking towards me, moving carefully and cautiously. He raised his hands and started speaking to me.
"I'm not gonna hurt you, I'm very sorry for shooting you." He continued walking towards me, his presence seemed genuine
Nonetheless, my ears drop and I begin to growl at him, I was worried and scared of what he'll do to me.
He stuck his hand out towards my wound.
"Let me help you with that, I promise I won't hurt you." He was reassuring me, he had this weird aura and apart of me doesn't even feel like he's a threat.
I stopped growling and sniffed his hand, I slowly whimper and look at my wound.
"I'll heal you, I promise I won't hurt you." He mumbles more to himself, touching his pouch at his side and taking out grounded up herbs in his hands.
He places it gently on my wound, it stung lightly but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. He continuously mumbles odd words, and within those words a small light comes from the herbs, illuminating my fur.I get up and stand up straight and stare at the Mei'fwa.
"You're not any normal wolf are you? You're way to smart to trust me." He said curiously. Before he could quickly examine me completely I run away as fast as I can.
Now I wondered something, did he find out my secret? Does he know I'm a werewolf? What will happen next?
