Chapter 5: The Dance of Trust

I let out a yawn and sit up in my bed. I peer outside, I predict its at least early morning, since the sun wasn't out just yet. I walk down the tree to a small and secure place so I can change; I get on my clothes and brush my hair. I grab my pocket knife and my sword then quickly head back to the top of the tree where everyone is. When I get there I find Micheal and Lance spooning, Michael must've some how moved his way back to the base top of the tree; they were sleeping next to each other.

I'm completely shocked on what I see, and I can't control myself, I ended up laughing my ass off. Micheal and Lance both wake up to the sound of my laughter.

Lance was the first to realize what they were doing, and quickly became flustered. He falls backwards, his legs dangling in the air. Lance is all tangled up in the blanket I gave him. Micheal comes to his senses and falls forward. They're both red and hiding their faces in their hands. I laugh for a few more seconds, and finally calm down. 

"Alright, c'mon love birds, lets get moving, we gotta eat and then head out." I have a devilish smirk on my face.

Lance immediately sits up, face as red as ever. "Kai you won't speak about this.."

I stop and turn to him, "One, don't tell me what I can't and can do; Two, No way in hell am I missing out on this great opportunity for blackmail." I let out an evil laugh. Lance's face becomes more red.

"Kai!!!""Uuuuggghhhhhhh....." Micheal hides his face in the blanket I gave Lance. 

I go and get food ready, Lance and Micheal have already prepared their weapons and sat down. Milo came down only a little while ago, but he sat far away from where Micheal was sitting. I bring the food and give each person a bowl. We all begin to eat. After we finished, I put on my cloak and fix my hair into a ponytail grabbing my satchel as well, but still keeping my eye covered. Lance gets his bow and Micheal...summons a large dark rose axe. Lance walks out of the tree followed by Micheal, I'm about to walk out as well, when I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn around and I see Milo with a worried expression on his face.

"Kai..." Milo starts, "Are you sure you want to help this demo-" I cut him off

"Micheal." Milo stares at me, but then continues,

 "Micheal....are you sure you want to help Micheal? Like I said, you've only known him for a day...and..." Milo looks down; his ears drop as well.I look at him with a face of sympathy. I bring his face up with my hand gently. 

"Listen, " I start with a reassuring voice, "I'm going to be okay, and if anything happens, I'll be okay. I promise. You don't need to worry about me, all you need to focus on is holding down the tree. Make sure no one new comes near it, and if they attack, do not hesitate..." I hand him a spare knife. Milo's eyes widen, and he looks up at me. I give him a stern expression and nod. He stares at me, but then nods and takes the knife. I smile and pat him. I turn around to go to Micheal and Lance, but I'm stopped by a hug from behind. Milo is hugging me from behind. I stop, and rub his hands.

"Please come back home Kai...." Milo says quietly.I sigh and turn around, I hold Milo's face and kiss his forehead. I smile and turn back around, leaving him at the entrance to the tree.

I start to walk with Lance and Micheal, but I stop, and turn back around to get one last glance at the entrance of the tree. Milo has disappeared inside.

Lance, Micheal, and I start trenching through the thick woods, pushing branches aside and stepping over large rocks.

"So it'll be a day or so to get to Tu'la, and keep your heads low when we pass through the town of Hanakala. You do not speak to anyone and if someone ask you something you give them a simple answer and leave" I say with a little of a stern voice.
