At least it's the only word you can use to describe what's surrounding you and what you see.
The only light illuminating the hallway is the faint beams of moonlight.
Huh.
Funny.
You don't seem to recall even walking in the first place but here you are, walking down a dark hallway in a dark building on a dark night.
Any darker and soon you'll start telling your mother that it isn't a phase.
You would've walked back but hell no it looked too scary so you pushed yourself to move forward.
You start to hear faint creaking of what turned out to be a wooden door at the end of the old hallway.
It opened just a bit so it wasn't enough to see what's inside.
Of course you went to open it because according to movie logic that was the best thing to do for some reason.
Sure you might get killed or attacked by a demon or something but hey at least you opened a door right?
Bonus: you get to see what's inside if you live.
You put your hand on the door and pushed. With a loud yet low creak, it opened.
