The house was quiet, the kids finally falling asleep with Sage's help and after everyone had calmed down.
Only Maverick and Raza stood in the living room watching Sage talk softly to his mother. Raza couldn't wait to be alone with his Chosen, to be able to talk to him, ask him how he feels. He knew his Chosen would be someone equal to him but he never expected the strong feelings that came with it. Just being in his presence, feeling his Chosen's power brush against his own. The one thing he was positive about, was that he loved it. No other feeling could compare to this.
"You're very sick." Sage said gently, grabbing his mom's hand. She nodded, wiping away tears with her free hand. Maverick was pacing, seeming agitated. "Would you let me help you?"
Maverick laughed without humor. "Help her? She needs some serious rehab and that's if the withdrawal doesn't kill her." His fangs hadn't retracted since she'd slapped Elias but Raza wasn't in the slightest bit worried.
Sage ignored his older brother, his eyes staying on his mom. "I can help you." He assured. "But only if you want me to."
Raza was impressed. He wondered how Sage knew about his abilities and more so, how he knew how to use them. Well, he seemed to know how to use them. They were about to find out.
The female nodded, sniffling. "I need help." She cried. "I want help, I don't like being like this. I'm so sorry." She choked out a sob. Sage's brows were furrowed as he watched her, a light flashing within.
Sage smiled beautifully after a few minutes. His sun tanned skin seemed to glow with an aura of light. Everything about him was just breathtaking. Raza couldn't look away.
"You've been this way for many years now, it'll take more than one cleansing." Sage said, standing from the couch. "Maverick, could you go get some water and crackers? She can't do this on an empty stomach."
"It's Ricky." He snapped, already walking into the kitchen. Raza rolled his eyes at the man-child. It's a good thing he's now immortal, it's going be many years before he grows up.
Sage looked over at Raza, smiling shyly. His tanned cheeks turned an adorable pink as he blushed. It appears he can now feel the bond and Raza couldn't be happier.
"You should eat too, you've been out for two and a half days." He said, moving closer to the small blond. Brushing his thumb across his warm cheek and over his jaw, Raza nudged Sage's face up so he could meet those chocolate brown eyes.
The two stared into each other's eyes until Maverick stomped into the room and cleared his throat.
Sage broke away, taking the packs of crackers and two bottles of water. Apparently Maverick thought Sage should eat as well. Raza nodded to the Childe as he moved to lean against the wall.
"Have you heard from Myla?" Sage asked his mom, opening the crackers for her.
"Last I heard, she was still dancing at that club."
Sage hummed in response, looking deep in thought.
"What is he? Who is he?" She asked lowly, unaware Raza could still hear her. An effect from living amongst humans for so long. Sage looked up from his crackers and Raza gave him a small smile. That soft blush appearing again.
"He's my Mate." Sage said, confirming that he too could feel the bond. How he knew what they were was a mystery though. "I still wait to hear his true name." Sage smirked, looking at Raza from under his lashes.
"Can you two stop staring at each other like love sick idiots." Maverick ground out. "I want to know why you know all this shit. I had to be told I was dead, what even are you?"
"We," Sage corrected. "We are Fae. You are only half now, seeing as you're also a Night Child." Raza lifted a brow. Now he was very curious as to how Sage knew this.
"What the fuck is that?"
"Faeries, the favored children of the Gods." Their mom spoke up, looking between her two oldest sons.
"I wouldn't say that," Raza chuckled. Always the Fae to think they're above everyone but their creators. "We love you all equally, in our own way of course."
That got her attention, her green eyes widening as she stared at Raza with an open mouth. Maverick too was looking at him strangely. The Childe had assumed Raza was like him.
"Are they safe? Do others still live?" She quickly asked, standing from her place on the couch.
Raza nodded. "My father sent legions to gather the survivors after the war. The Fae are alive and well, with us." It was a time his father didn't like to talk about, regretful for not helping until it was too late. If it wasn't for Raza himself, he probably would have never gotten the chance to meet his Chosen. He looked to Sage who was...smiling?
"We should start, we'll learn more after you're better." Sage said, getting up and leading the way upstairs.
"Um," Raza scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. "May I watch?"
"Dude, just go." Maverick huffed, spreading out on the couch.
Sage smiled and nodded his approval.

In truth, there wasn't much to see. Sage was healing the mind as much as the body. Sometimes there would be a slight breeze of fresh air or Sage's eyes would glow. To anyone else, it would appear he was watching over his sleeping mother. Raza could feel the power around him though, feel how it wrapped itself around him and drew strength from him.
Sage finished just as the sun was painting the sky in pinks and purples, his eyes opening and leveling on Raza. They slipped out of the room quietly and Sage grabbed Raza's arm before he could go any further.
They froze, both feeling the warm tingles from the contact. Raza closed his eyes and grit his teeth, trying to restrain himself from claiming the small blond here in the hall. Sage didn't have the same restraint, pressing himself against his larger form and sighing.
Raza looked down at the curly head resting against his chest and wrapped his arms around Sage in a tight hug. They stood there in silence, taking comfort from their closeness.
Sage lifted his head after awhile, his brown eyes scanning over Raza's face before meeting his eyes. "Your name..." Sage trailed of.
Raza smirked, his fingers moving to Sage's hair to play with the ringlets.
"Razalious."
