"I can tell you...with a kiss."
The beautiful male smiled, his pale eyes seeming to pulse.
Sage exhaled, looking around at nothing but crawling darkness that brushed against his skin like a living being. With a determined nod, Sage braced himself and the male chuckled.
Shutting his eyes tightly, he felt the male inch closer until he felt his warm breath brush his lips.
The initial kiss wasn't felt.
Visions flooded his mind. Some he's seen before. Some that were new.
A hourglass filled with red sand. It was down to the last grains but his attention diverted to the snake coiled around it. The black serpents head with ruby eyes, it swallowed it's own white tail. The colors evenly split at the middle of its body.
When the last grain of red sand dropped, the vision changed to streets flooded with blood. Crows flew around, their loud caws only growing louder until he could no longer stand it and he screamed to block out the noice.
His scream morphed into another's, a boy of gold wrapped in white stained by red. Two long lacerations ripped down his bare back, blood adding to what already surrounded them. Beside him stood a man, or what appeared to be a man. Black horns curved into black hair and in his black scaled hands he held white feathered wings. The white bled into black and darkness surrounded Sage once more.
A white wolf ran towards him and fear tore through him. Turning around, Sage ran towards the sun. Looking behind him he witnessed the white wolf bursting into a cloud of black smoke before he was thrown into another vision.
His Mate. Sage watched a male plunge a sword through his torso and he ran towards him frantically, his hands uselessly trying to stop the blood that seeped through.
Golden eyes stared up at him before being drifted away into black smoke.
Jerking back, Sage's eyes snapped open to see pale eyes staring into his. The tears of blood were stark against his olive skin.
"You've been given a choice. Choose wisely."
_______________________________I want to thank everyone for sticking through and reading. If you haven't figured it out already, Gods and Monsters and my story The Darkest Star are connected. They have no reading order but I'd suggest reading both before the next book that has the characters from both stories meeting. This is only the beginning.
