"Like a vacation?" Aurora asked, looking up at Sage as he folded her clothes neatly before putting them in her backpack.

"Kind of," He offered her a small smile. "More like a new home."

Mia was packing her own bag, balling up clothes and shoving them in her bag alongside her box of random things. Sage had already tried to explain to them that they'd be leaving in the morning, without him.

The plan was for Raza to take everyone to his father before coming back for Sage and his mom. She was still too sick to make it but hopefully by the time Raza gets back they'll be able to move her.

"But this is our home." Aurora said, digging through her box of hair supplies. She was the only one really questioning everything. The others had accepted it but mostly because they hadn't fully grasped what was going on. Elias had been quiet since the Baxter's left, pouting because Sam had left with them to get permission from their Alpha and pack his own clothes. It was new seeing his little brother so affectionate with someone. Sage wanted to tease him so bad but a lot was going on. They'll be time later.

Pushing damp curls from his face, he zipped up her backpack and sat it aside. They weren't taking much with them, mostly necessities and enough to get them by for a few days. Their home would be left behind but Sage wasn't so sure he'd miss it. As many good memories the place held, there were just as many bad ones.

"Look," Aurora said, opening her mouth and wiggling a loose baby tooth. Sage smiled, leaning down to get a closer look.

"Soon you'll have all big girl teeth."  Their little canines weren't as sharp as his but definitely not human anymore. Secretly, he wanted all of his younger siblings to stay little and never grow up but it's inevitable.

"I'm already a big girl, I'm seven." Aurora stressed with an eye roll.

Mia dropped her backpack on the floor and jumped on her bed, ready to sleep. Sage got Aurora to lay down as well, even though she talked the whole time about anything that came to mind. He kissed both of their cheeks before turning off the light and leaving the door cracked behind him. Marlo was already in bed but Sage checked on him again before going downstairs.

Arkaelis stood in the doorway to the kitchen, his soft looking wings taking up most of the space. The male looked up at Sage and nodded his head in respect, thankfully not calling him Lord again or any other formalities.

"I don't like it." Maverick was saying, his arms crossed as he looked down at Razalious who was sitting on the couch.

"For once, I agree, Childe."

"I don't know what's worse, being called that or my full name."

"I like your name." Sage butted in, smiling at his older brother while sitting as close as he could to his Mate without being in his lap. "Dad chose it. Maverick, a male who's independent and avoids conformity."

Maverick sneered, stopping in his mindless pacing to glare at them. "How the hell would you know?"

Sage smirked. "He told me." He said, trying to cuddle even closer to Razalious who slipped a strong arm around his waist.

Maverick went to speak again but Arkaelis stepped forward and cleared his throat. "Would you mind joining me outside? Your superior night vision could be of use." His voice was very smooth and melodic but Sage wasn't as blind as his brother. The male was trying to give them privacy and complementing Maverick had bent the arrogant male to his will. It was a shared trait between Night Children and the Fae, Maverick being both made him come off as a pompous ass most of the time.
