An Autumn's Note

4th Note: "Raveled Stories"

        After we had tea last night, it makes me think Ethan and I are closer yet far. Is it me or just a feeling of anxiety? Like, there's more in to it. These hands of mine makes me think, i these made only for playing piano? I wish it could be use to make Ethan happy too.

" hey! hey! Chloe I got something for you!.." suddenly Nica giving me chocolates, ah yes.... I forgot she just came back yesterday from Switzerland.

"I was expecting you'll come and visit me last night Chloe.."

"sorry.. sorry my bad." I can't tell her I'm fixated with a mysterious guy.

"I guess you already a boyfriend" while she's teasing me inside in the rehearsal room. Nica is my childhood friend our parents are family friends since they are both classmates and pianist in their older times. I love her like my little sister, I'm just glad she came back safely from her solo performance with my  uncle in a concerto.

"No I don't have silly.." as I replied back. "hey nica, do you know we have here a white grand piano at our storage room?"

"storage room? in the fourth floor?"

"yes,.. It seems it was well tuned."

"you play on it chloe?"

"yes, why?"

"Haven't you ever heard of the mysteries of that piano?"

"no, why is it important?" mysteries huh?.. maybe rumored stories.

"of course it is! you silly. That piano was built for the two lovers of this school a century ago. They are pianist just like us. It is rumored the piano has curse on it. The girl died for unknown reason. she just suddenly collapsed and boom! died."

"huh? maybe the girl is sick.. and not diagnosed early that she has a disease" as I replied with confusion

"No. This is the creepiest part. they say that the girl collapsed while playing the piano. The lover of that girl was so depressed, the other night he decided to play the piano, and by playing the piano he suddenly die."

"you know what, that is the most riduculous story I ever heard Nica" Replied with laughter.

"yeah yeah laugh all you want! every night when the clock srikes on 1 in the morning, the piano plays it self all along on that storage room."

"well if that's true, then why didn't just throw away the piano, or destroy it or burn it into ashes?"

"The founder of this school, Maestro Frycek love this piano because he is a friend of these two lovers. He instructed that to keep the piano and preserve it. He said it has a purpose to be done someday. But one day his son tried do destroy this piano suprisingly he can not destroy the piano, it was like a magical piano that protects itself. On the death wish of Maestro Frycek he said: "Protect this piano at all cause until it serves its purpose to Amelia.." "

"Amelia?.."

"Yes, the initials engraved in the piano EA means Ethan and Amelia... and so until then, the third generation protects and hides the piano.. then this mystery story spreads in cycles for centuries.."

Is this possible? Ethan? Is he the Ethan what  I think of? no. Impossible..

"I better go now Chloe, go on and practice okay? I'll catch up with you later..." then Nica left.

Is it coincidence? My mind is full of questions that I need to clarify.. Is the Ethan from centuries ago is the Ethan that I knew? I want to know the answers and there is only one way to find out, to ask the Head of this school.

        As I walk thru the school I quickly walk up the stairs to go to the office of the head and ask himself. I know it is riduculous that maybe it is just a rumored story that has been pass doen thru the generation, but I can feel it, I can feel it deep inside of my heart that I need to know the truth for Ethan. I know its reckless but I have this gut feel that this is the way to know him better. 

I knocked three times and entered the room.     

"I've been waiting for you dear, sit down and let me tell you a story"

" Wait Sir, Did I heard you right? You've been waiting for me?"

"yes, You're going to ask me something right? but before that let me tell you a story"

I got no choice but to sit and listen for what he have to tell. My heart is pounding like crazy. What is happening now is crazy! Why he knew that I was going to ask him abruptly? But good thanks to this chamomile tea it relaxes me a bit.

"I remember, my father told me something: Protect the piano, be the head of this school then protect the piano;  help him like he helped your grandfather.. The grand piano is the main reason why this school is built. I believed you already heard the rumored story of this school? "

"just today sir, my childhood friend told me earlier"

"I see, this must be fate then.. Chloe be strong and believe in him. All he wanted to do right from the start is to save you.."

My mind is going blank, be strong and believe in him? Who's he? Why are you saying this to me?!

"Back then, this school is just an ordinary music house to use by Frycek, my grandfather, and his friends, Ethan and Amelia. They love music, Frycek plays violin then accompanied by Ethan. Ethan and Amelia introduce music to him it was like this is their second home. Amelia is the greatest of them three, she loves piano so much, so much like her sister and that is why Ethan gave her a white grand piano as a gift with initials engraved on it EA.."

"stands for Ethan and Amelia.." as I responded..

"Yes, it was such grief when  on the night while Amelia suddenly collapsed and die while she's playing the piano. Ethan was so shocked, held her in his arms and she is not breathing anymore. He tried to get to the hospital but it was late. There is nothing wrong in her body, she is not sick. She just died, just like that. For a mourning of her sudden death, Frycek composed the piece Prelude Op.28 No.4. But Ethan couldn't just accept what happened to her. My Grandfather said, he did a taboo just to save her in a ravel death.."

"What taboo?.. What Ethan did that time?.. I do not understand! Why is this happening? is this Ethan is the Ethan that I knew?!" I burst out all the confusions to him for I do not know what to do, or what to feel in this situation.

"Dear, I'm just a friend of Ethan, for those questions... ask him himself and I believe you know where to find him.. go on. He's prepared for this day.."

I stand up from where I sited and thank the head of the school.

        Ethan, if this is true is there something I should do? I know it and I can feel it that I should be the one to save you; this is the main reason why your eyes is so sad as if you are not there. If there is one way to see you smile honestly, I'll anything to make it happen. I love you, and that is all I can think of.
