The Next Morning

Narrator:

Tyler ended up spending the night with Ada until her mom came home. But Ada wouldn't let him sleep on the floor so next to each other they slept. In the morning they were cuddled close, Tyler's arms draped over Adas framed body. His face buried in her brown strawberry-scented hair.

Adas gentle eyes opened and blinked.
She looked at her clock, it was 1:17 am. She then noticed that Tyler's arms had been draped over her. She gently moved his arm to get out of his touch. Ada sat on the edge of her bed staring at his framed face. Tyler's face was tensed up, almost like he's having a nightmare. She rubbed her temples and stared at the ceiling.

Adas Thoughts:

If only he knew. I could tell him but..I cant. I'm not ready. He might hate me.

Narrator:

Ada turned to shake Tyler awake. He opened his emerald eyes rubbing them.

"You might wanna get outta here before my mom finds out you're here." Ada whispered. Tyler nodded as he started to head for the door. He turned. "Ada.." Ada turned, "Mhm?" Tyler went back and hugged her close to his chest. "I know you're hiding something. You dont need to tell me. Whenever you're ready. I'm always here. Be safe. Okay?" He rubbed her back tracing circles. He finally let go and left. She stood in the middle of her room, confused. She slumped back down onto her bed.

Her mom suddenly opens the door.
Ada stares at her. "Mom-" Her mom puts her hand up. "Who is that. What did you two do. Why the hell is he in my house." Ada digs her fingers into her arm. "Hes..a friend from school..His name is Tyler. He saved me mom. You dont-" Her moms face twists and then she tells. "That is a sad excuse Adaliene. Dont lie to me." Ada becomes upset. "Mom, why dont you trust me? I can show you the texts, a group of kids were trying to break in, you were at work and he-" Her mom stopped her, "Stop. Go to bed. We'll discuss this tomorrow. I cant trust you right now." She turned and walked out slamming her door. Adas face was scrunched and red. Her eyes filled with tears. She grabbed her backpack, put a change of clothes and her phone in it and climbed out her window. She was headed to Tyler's home.
