Veronica walked up to Jughead the next day. She covered his eyes with her hands. "Guess who?" "Is it my favorite raven-haired princess, who also happens to be my best friend?" Veronica took her hands off his eyes and he turned around.
His eyes widened, "are you not cold?" "I may be a little cold." He slipped his jacket off him and onto her. She looked up at him with puppy eyes. "I have a question."
He smiled at her. "Ok, ask away Ronnie." She sighed before continuing on with the question. "Ok, Betty wants to join the serpents. Let her audition?"
He shook his head. "Please?" "No," Jughead he said a little annoyed. He didn't like Betty. "Torombolo, please?"
"No, she is a prude. No prude is allowed in my gang." Veronica pouted, "come on! She's not that bad." "My final answer is no."
He walked away from Veronica. "See you later, Emily strange." Betty ran towards Veronica, once she saw jughead walk away. "What did he say?" "Jughead?"
Veronica saw the hope in Betty's eyes. "He said yes." "Omg thank you so much." Betty pulled Veronica into a tight hug. 'What am I going to do now?'
Veronica thought to herself. Archie walked up to them. "Hey Betty, babe." He kissed Veronica on the lips. Betty rolled her eyes.
"Gross, I don't want to see my best friends sharing saliva." Betty faked a giggle and then she punched them playfully. "Hey, Veronica, nice hickey." "What?" "Yeah, your hair is not fully covering it."
Archie smirked at Veronica, as she playfully pushed him. The girl walked away. "Archie, you know I have sensitive skin." "Well, how else are people going to know you're mine." "I don't know, it's not like the varsity jacket and us constantly making out give it away."
Archie smiled at her wrapping his varsity jacket around her. "You look so hot in my varsity jacket." She rolled her eyes and took it off. "I already have a jacket on babe." Archie acknowledges the jacket for the first time this morning.
Archie hated the serpents. He didn't want Veronica, his girlfriend, to be associated with them. He hated that she was best friends with the serpent king. "Take that jacket off. You aren't southside scrum."
"What did you just say?" Veronica's blood boiled, she hated that Archie was so rude to all the serpent. "Cheryl, Toni, and Jughead are serpents." "Cheryl is a bitch, Toni is good for nothing barista and Jughead-," the sound of Veronica's hand coming to contact with Archie's face was sound throughout the hall. Archie held his cheek.
"What the fuck Ronnie, what was that for?" "Don't you dare talk about Cheryl, Toni, or Jughead like that ever again. They are my best friends." Betty held Archie's cheek, inspecting it. "Veronica, that was a bit extreme."
"Betty, you are thinking of joining the serpents. So let me tell you something loyalty and unity are very important. If you become a serpent, you have to be willing to fight for your family, the southside serpents. You never go against your king." "You aren't a serpent, Veronica," Betty spattered in disgust.
Betty couldn't believe Veronica hurt Archie. "No, I'm not but my best friends are. And I will defend them, from everything and everyone I can." Archie walked up to Veronica. He pulled her into a kiss.
"I'm story baby, you know I hate the serpents." "And you know that the serpents helped me when my parents were framed for fraud. I own them a lot." Cheryl and Toni watched from a distance. "How dare he call you a bitch?"
"How dare he call you good for nothing?" The two fierce girls walked towards him and slapped him. "Is it national slap Archie day?" Archie said while complaining about his red cheeks. The two girls ranted about how he was an idiot and he was annoying.
Cheryl wrapped her arm around Veronica and dragged her away. Not before giving Archie a final stinky eye. Toni pushed Archie towards the locker. "Do anything against my girlfriend, my V, or my serpent king and I will crush you." She walked away, dropping him in the process.
"Arch, are you ok?" Betty and Archie looked into each other's eyes. She leaned in and they kissed. He pulled away after a while. "I'm with Veronica, and I love her."
"Can we just forget about her? For at least 5 minutes?" Betty was frustrated that he, along with everyone else, would choose Veronica over everything and everyone. "Betty, I like you, but I love Veronica." The hall was empty and Archie looked at Betty's sad eyes.
"I'm sorry." Betty got up, "don't go." Without thinking, Archie pulled Betty into a kiss. They pulled away when they were out of breath. "How about we ditch?"
Betty smiled at Archie. He smiled unsurely, "ok, to pops?" "How about my house?" She dragged him towards his car. They hopped on and Archie drove off.
Jughead had decided to ditch and as he drove off in his motorcycle he passed Archie's house. His truck was there. 'Did Veronica ditch with him?' He noticed Archie's shirt on the ground at the porch. 'Gross.'
Jughead cringed at the thought of his best friend doing those things. He continued riding to pops. He got there and sat down, waiting for someone to take his order. Pops and his father approached him. "Boy, what are you doing here?"
Jughead's eyes widened, he forgot his dad recently got a job there. "You are supposed to be at school." "I need a break from all the kids and their bullshit." FP shook his head, "ok fine, but you go back during lunch and take some food to the gang. Wait, where is your serpent jacket?"
Jughead smirked, "with V." FP slammed his fist on the table, "Jesus, Jughead! You like getting Archie mad, don't you?" "Yeah, he is a cruel boy who likes to play the victim. Also, are you forgetting we found him and his gang of bulldogs vandalizing the whyte wyrm?"
FP gripped jughead by the shoulder. "Ever thought that he could hurt Veronica because he is mad. If something happens to her, it might be your fault." Jughead shook his head. "If he were to touch a hair on her body in the wrong way I would crush him."
He pushed his dad away from him. "Plus he loves Veronica too much." FP sat down in front of jughead. "You know I love her like a daughter. You must protect her."
Jughead smiled. "I know dad, we all love Veronica. What's not to love, she's the best?" He looked at his dad with a frown on his face, "you know, she asked me to let Bertha audition for the serpents?" "Who the hell is Bertha?"
Jughead rolled his eyes, "a northside prude who happens to be Veronica's best friend? You know besides Cheryl, Toni, and I." "Alice Cooper's daughter? I thought her name was Betunia?" "Betunia, Bertha, Petty, Helga, Prudence, whatever her name is, yes her."
"Oh, what did you say?" "No, but now that I think about it, I am going to say yes." "Why?" "It will make my Vero happy and get Archie mad."
