chapter 6: He's really gone

He admitted to it in front of everyone. They all turned towards him. Some couldn't believe what they heard. Someone stood there trying to analyze the words. Those simple work.

It was only 6 words but they had so much power. Admitting to it could me facing jail time but everyone was too shocked. It only made everything so much more real to the serpents. They lost a legend and a grandfather figure to a lot of them. "I'm so sorry Veronica."

The crowd of Northsiders parted like the red sea. All still really confused about the whole situation. Sure he admitted to it but surely it meant something else. How could he be so calm if he actually did kill a human. He walked nervously towards them, towards her.

He reached out to grab her hand, but she instantly pulled away. It was as though he was poison. That really hurt him to see one of the people he cared about. She rejected him and possibly hated him. "Don't touch me!"

Her eyes showed how hurt she was from the large betrayal. He looked hurt too. Their silent stare seemed to last a while."What's going on?" Betty emerged from the crowd and she broke the silence.

Archie didn't know why, but he blurred out everything. He felt so guilty and wanted to come clean about everything. "I had sex with Betty." Gasps were heard throughout both crowds, the northside especially. Betty froze and looked up at Veronica shocked.

Veronica's whole body felt tense and chills ran on every inch of it too. Of course it was the northside princess. It disgusted her to know he cheated. She knew they were in a fight but she still felt really hurt but that. How long had it been happening?

She had so many questions but didn't know when to start. She knew the signs were there. It's the perfect girl and boy facade they both pulled off really well that connected them. "I killed Mr Topaz," he continued to blur out. She felt her heart clench.

Everyone fell into silence. They were extremely shocked by everything. Jack, the town's best attorney, grabbed Archie from his bicep and dragged him through the crowd back to his house. Everyone just stood and watched. Did that really just happen?

"Really Archie?!" "I'm sorry uncle Jack." Jack kept dragging him towards the house. "Keep your mouth shut, that's all I fucking asked from you. You were going to make it out with no charges."

"I'm sorry, I need to apologize to her." "You are ruining everything. Let's go don't say anything else we'll find a way out of this ok." Veronica stood in shock. He actually admitted to it and it made it more clear.

Everyone tried to get her attention and then out of nowhere she started running towards Archie. The amount of anger in her body was unbelievable. She was practicing a bomb exploding. She walked up to him and punched him in the face. Everyone in the crowd gasped.

Cheryl and Toni ran to hold her back. She was trying to swing again. Everyone trying to calm her down and restrain her. "I fucking hate you Archie Andrews!" Her breathing was cut short and it seemed as though she couldn't breathe.

"Fuck you, fuck you," she scream with each word it became lower and shorter. Cheryl, Toni, Jughead and the rest of them knew what was going on. "I'm sorry," he tried to walk towards her. "Don't touch me. I will kill you if you get near me."

She said while gasping for air. Her chest was beating like crazy and her breathing was not even. "Don't threaten my client!" "Shut the fuck up, Jack!" "The girl's having a panic attack."

"Give her space! Surrounding her will only make it worse," Jughead informed while making his way through the crowd. She was resisting everyone. Jughead stepped in pulling her into his chest. "It's ok princess," he said while comforting her.

Everyone just stood their confused. She calmed down and looked at him smiling. "I'm ok," Veronica said in a small voice, still weak from the lack of air. "It's all Jughead's fault." They all looked at Archie.

"It is, it really is all his fault. Why can't you see that? I was so blinded by my anger, anger he caused. I don't like him around you baby." "Don't call me that Andrews."

"That's enough!" Everyone turned to look at Sheriff Keller with some deputies. "Everyone go home and get a rest." Everyone began to move except Archie. They shoved him in his house.

"For the love of God, aren't you going to arrest him!" "He admitted to the crime!" "We all heard it!" "No, I think we all had enough for today. Now go back to the south side."

The serpents left home. On the way Veronica hugged Toni who was crying. "He's really gone. I thought maybe it was a terrible dream or a sick prank, but no it's not." Veronica's tears slipped out of her eyes.

"I know T, I know." "He deserves to rot in jail." "What if his lawyer throws me in jail?" "Why would he?" "I did say I would kill him."

Jughead looked at her. "That won't happen, I wouldn't allow it. You are my bestie, I won't let anything happen." "The perks of being the serpent king's girl."
