AN: Amber Heard as Cherry. Song is Mercy by Shawn Mendes.

Felicity winced as she saw lightning hit a nearby boulder. The storms were the only thing that annoyed her about Dalton. The town a safe haven for the supernatural and it had a great spa, but the random storms just about killed her. One minute it was sunny and the next, there was a huge sand storm. God knows where the sand came from. But, she dealt with it because she really did feel at home here. Quickly dodging huge pile of poo on the sidewalk, (most likely a werewolf. Whenever they turned, they just can't contain themselves) Felicity was just in time to avoid bumping into two harpies. They were usually pretty nice, but if you scuffed their shoes, it's all over. Another reason she liked Dalton was because of the loss of humans. God knows what would happen if humans found out about the supernatural. Just thinking about the Salem Witch Trials gave Felicity the chills.
The reason why there were very few humans around? Dalton wasn't an actual town. You couldn't find it on any map, either. It was actually just a pocket of magic in a certain place. For instance, Felicity knew that Dalton was near the state of Maine, but it wasn't in a set place. That's why very few humans could be found in the town. And the humans who were here, were usually mixed with some type of magic.
Walking into Sherry's, she immediately knew that Cherry would have what she needed. The witch always did.
"What's up, dragonfly?" was Cherry's greeting. That had been her nickname for Felicity since they first met. Felicity smiled at the tall beauty.
Cherry was a stunner at 5' 7", but was usually closer to 6 feet due to the towering heels she always wore. Her looks made it seem like she would be snarky and snobbish, but she was the most down to earth person Felicity knew.
"Hey, Cherry. So, look. I have a problem, and I need you to fix it." Felicity chuckled awkwardly as she gave Cherry her puppy eyes.
"Well, what's wrong? Is it indigestion from eating so much of those catfish in the lake?" Cherry whispered behind her hand. Smacking said hand down, Felicity shook her head.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. It's not me, actually. I have a... visitor at the moment who just happened to be poisoned." Felicity explained cautiously. It's not that she didn't trust Cherry, it's just that it's extremely hard to keep a secret in a small town where almost everybody knows everybody.
Cherry gasped and brought a hand to her mouth.
"You have a male dragon in your house? Do you know how dangerous that could be? Not to mention he's a stranger, he could be a murderer on the run!" Cherry yelled, clutching Felicity's shoulders and shaking her. Felicity sighed and shook her head. That was always her first assumption of a stranger. That he/she was a murderer on the run, thanks to an ex-boyfriend, who just happened to be a murderer. Who also happened to be on the run.
"Even if he was a murderer on the run, he can't do much now. Look, I don't know what it is, but he needs help. He can't be that bad if Alliena wants him, and you know she only likes the best of dragons," Felicity pulled herself out of Cherry's hands and placed her hands on her hips. The name Alliena caught her attention.
"You mean... He was another victim? I'm surprised he even got away from the hag. You said he's been poisoned? With what?" Cherry had finally calmed down and went to stand behind the counter.
"I have no idea, and knowing Alliena, it could be anything. But, I trust you and I really need your help. He has these purple spots on him with tiny black veins coming out of them. And, it's serious, Cherry. The stuff got on his wings, and it looks painful as hell." Felicity explained as she started to pace. Cherry raced out of the front room without a word, leaving Felicity confused. But, It wasn't long before she came back holding a stack of books and a large bag filled to the brim.
"Alright, let's go see what it is."

They reached Felicity's house in record time, as she had been going about 40 above the speed limit. They quickly entered Felicity's house and she led Cherry to the man lying on her living room floor. He glanced up at them as they entered.
"Took you long enough," he grunted. Felicity rolled her eyes and quietly showed his injuries to Cherry.
"If you don't shut up, I'll take even longer, Vale." Felicity could tell he was used to being the authority figure as he was bossy and kind of rude. Her brothers were exactly the same way.
Cherry was looking over him, a small light coming from her hands as she waved them over his body. Her eyes flashed open and she looked at Felicity before at Vale.
"Vale, is it? Well, luckily, the poison hasn't spread very far, but don't over exert yourself before we get you cured," Cherry said kindly. Vale nodded and then groaned in pain, his leg muscles twitching. Cherry whispered to Felicity, "Let me make a call. If this is what I think it is, he's in a lot of trouble."
Cherry stood and entered her kitchen, taking her phone out of her pocket. Felicity looked back at the stranger on her floor. She should probably get out the air mattress from her basement so he wouldn't have to lay on the hard floor.
"Are you thirsty? I don't know if you can eat anything right now, but I can get you something to drink, if you like?" Felicity asked him, wiping more sweat off of his brow. Vale opened his eyes, brilliant blue eyes, and looked at her before nodding.
"Water, please." She was surprised to him say please, but was appreciative of his effort. Going into her kitchen, she caught the end of Cherry's conversation.
"Well, if you're positive that's what it is....Ok, I will see if that'll work. Ok, yeah.....Thanks, Glisinda." Cherry ended the call and looked at Felicity.
"Well? Do you know what it is? Can we help him?" Felicity asked as she filled a tall glass with water from the pitcher on her counter. Cherry wrung her hands together and leaned her back against her kitchen counter.
"It's a poison called Fyre of Life. Back in the old days, female dragons would use it to poison men that they wanted. It would slowly poison their nervous system until they couldn't do anything by themselves. The women would help them, "nursing" them back to health and winning their affections, the men not knowing they were falling for their poisoners. It eventually fell out of practice as men became less trusting, wanting to rather die than let a strange female help them. The poison can only be made by Circeans, the offspring of the witch Circe. They're vengeful witches who take pleasure in torturing men, although they're very rare to find." Cherry explained the situation while digging through the bag she had brought with her.
"So, Alliena found some Circean witch, had a poison made, just to trap him? She's become even more crazy!" Felicity walked out of the kitchen to bring the water to Vale. Lifting his head onto her lap, she carefully helped him drink the water.
"You probably think I'm strange for wanting to help a stranger, but whatever. Just know, you'll regret it if you try something funny, mister." She whispered to him.
She saw him roll his eyes, but nod afterwards.
"Trust me, you have nothing to worry about."
