Omniscient's POV

Percy carefully put on his armor. He knew he shouldn't be wearing all of this precious metal in public, but he was positive the Mist would be plenty enough to hide it. If anything, they would probably see a cardboard cutout of armor.

He lifted his arm and Onyx flew into his hand. It was the finishing touch to his costume, after all. He was to be a warrior, and a sword was necessary to complete the outfit.

The doorbell to his apartment rang and he bounded over to answer it. Outside was Tyler and Kathy, both ready on time. Tyler was dressed as a Sith Lord from the ongoing Star Wars movies and Kathy as the traditional zombie. An oldie but a goodie. "Come on in!" Percy ordered happily.

Kathy's eyebrow rose at his costume but nonetheless entered after Tyler.

Percy turned his back to his friends to grab the bowls of snacks he had prepared. "Guys! I found every candy they could possibly have. I mean, day of Halloween and you'd be surprised how little candy is in stock. I mean, cookies were obviously there, so I hope you don't mind that I happened to stock up on some cupcakes instead."

He paused for an answer but found that the room was as silent as ever. He turned around and saw his friends frozen in their spots. "Uh, hello? Are you guys okay?"

Kathy lifted her hand and pointed to his costume. "Did your - Did your costume just change?"

Percy looked down to see the normal bronze. He wouldn't be able to tell regardless but he sure hoped the Mist wasn't failing him. It wasn't supposed to thin out until around midnight. "I don't think so? Are you feeling alright?"

Kathy went to answer but Tyler unfroze and smiled brightly. "Dude! That's some sick armor! Where'd you find something ancient like that is such good condition?!"

He ran over to Percy, who sported a look of confusion. What in the world was Tyler talking about? He couldn't possibly be seeing his armor right?

Tyler knocked on the chest plate, which responded with a metallic clanking noise. "Woah," Tyler laughed. "It even sounds legit too!"

Percy stepped back, his hands outstretched. "Wait. You can see my armor?"

"It kinda flickered before," Kathy admitted. "But it looks so real."

"So real," Tyler repeated softly.

"Oh no," Percy muttered to himself. He began to pace the floor in a small circle. "Oh gods please tell me this is some sort of sick joke."

Kathy lead Percy over to his couch and softly looked at him. "Percy? Are you okay?"

Percy shook his head. "You can see it? The armor?"

Kathy lifted her fingers to his chest. The surface was smooth to the touch as she traced out the little designs that meant nothing to her progressive mind. She tried to piece it all together. Her best friend, the flickering armor, the symbols. What language was that? "Yeah."

Percy stood suddenly and grabbed Onyx. "Okay, tell me honestly what you see, okay? No matter how far fetched."

He pressed the button, turning Onyx into his beautiful blade. The faces of his friend were frozen in confusion. "What the -?" Tyler began.

"We-We saw it? We saw it!" Kathy exclaims, not taking her eyes off the blade. "What kind of material is the blade? And how in the world did you manage to compress it into a pen?"

Percy chuckled cynically. "Would you believe me if I told you it was magic? Well partially magic?"

Kathy looked unamused. "Percy that's stupid. Clearly you have your hands on some wicked cool tech that you haven't told us about."

Tyler, on the other hand, was freaking out. "Oh my-! Dude, are you-? No freaking way! But that's not, not possible, right?"

Percy shrunk Onyx and pocketed the pen. He sadly watched his friends as they attempted to process the new information. Kathy obviously had yet to believe in magic. Tyler was overwhelmed by the possibility that it existed.

"I need to make a call."

Percy then ran to his room and search through his sock drawer for a golden drachma. He felt that the news should be shared in person rather than over a mental link. He then crossed the hall to the bathroom and locked the door. Running the shower, he threw the drachma in. "Oh Fleecy! Do me a solid and show me Summer."

The shower shimmered until the image of the frantic blonde boy appear in the shower. He was running away from a crowd of angry people. "Percy!" He screamed as he ran closer. "What in Hades are you doing?!"

"Who are you running from?" Percy asked frantically.

"The mortals! They can see, Percy!" Summer yelled, getting closer and closer.

"Just run to me! You've got this!"

Summer turned behind him and yelled in fear. His pace picked up and he continued running until he arrived that the Iris Message. But he didn't stop.

Summer tried to swipe through the message, but the message didn't cut out. Instead of fading into the mist, Summer ran through the message and into Percy. The call cut right afterwords, leaving the two ancient friends in complete confusion.

The blond quickly got off of Percy and wiped off the imaginary dirt from his clothing, his golden wings shuddering themselves. "Did you do that?" he asked.

Percy shook his head. "I can't teleport people without touching them," he explained. "Maybe Chaos did that?"

It was Summer's turn to shake his own head. "She's been radio silent. We've been trying to contact her all year and nothing." He turned towards the tub. "Those mortals could see me Perce." The season's voice was low and quivering.

Percy sighed and leaned against the bathroom wall. "There's something going on here. Something bigger than just a couple clear sighted mortals."

Their conversation faded into deep thought. How could the mortals see? Clear-sighted mortals were few and far between and Summer just so happened to stumble on a large group of them. Highly unlikely.

Percy was shaken from his thoughts when a loud banging erupted from the other side of the door. "Perce? You okay in there?"

Percy swore and surveyed the surrounding area for something to cover Summer. "You have friends over?" Summer hissed quietly.

"Y-Yeah!" the Champion called, answering both parties simultaneously. Sighing in relief, he picked up a blue shirt that he forgot to pick up and threw it at his friend.

"I'm not putting this on!" Summer exclaimed quietly.

The door handle jiggled slightly. "Percy, it doesn't sound alright," Tyler commented. "If you don't let us in, I'm gonna have to manually override the lock."

Percy was at a loss for words. He had to just rip the metaphorical bandaid off.

He unlocked the bathroom door and opened it wide. His friends on the other side stared in disbelief and Summer was frozen, gripping Percy's shirt with a deathly grip. Percy assumed he was trying to become invisible again.

But that didn't work.

Tyler eyes widened as he pointed towards Summer. "Does he have wings?!"

Percy sighed. This was gonna be a long night.

Anyways, I hope you've enjoyed this chapter. The updates will be sparse but I haven't given up on this book.
