Episode 6: Heat of Battle

Hachiko wakes up with tears spilling down his cheeks. He doesn't know why. Alarms were blaring in his room, and someone was frantically pounding at his locked door.

He sits up and opens it, Akira stumbling into his room. "Aki, what's happening?"

"We're under attack, we need you."

"Ok," he says, the younger boy immediately leading him away towards the sound of blasters being fired. "Wait, Aki! You're okay!"

Akira gives him a strange look. "You've been locked up in your room for a whole week."

The younger boy had a large scar on his face and neck, paler than his other skin.

Akira runs towards the screams, pulling out electric swords from seemingly midair. ""I don't-" he was going to say have a weapon, but he was interrupted by a female voice he didn't recognize.

"I equipped your arm with weapon capabilities."

He didn't know who that was, but was thankful for her as his arm began to glow.

"Hachi, come on!"

They ran into complete chaos. Hachi immediately hit a solider in the gut, and he split in half. After that it was like his arm took over, killing multiple soldiers in 5 minuets.

Akira had disappeared to Leandro's side. "How's your leg?" He asked between slicing two Galra down. Leo took down a few before answering.

"It hurts like shit." He was on a crutch, and only using one blaster, but he was taking them out nonetheless. "How's your head?"

"Still a little light, but I got enough blood."

Suddenly a large portion of the Galra soldiers were crushed, as if by some invisible force.

"What just happemed?" Akira asked.

"No clue."

Akira took out about a dozen more soldiers, before spotting Rowen, across the room, her bright blonde hair sticking out like a beacon. She sliced through about a dozen Galra with a double bladed scythe. The shaft it was attached to looked a lot like her walking stick.

Alma was behind her, kneeling next to a woman who looked about their age passed out on the ground. She had bright silver hair, that was lazily floating.

They disappeared from sight, and he continued slicing through Galra soldiers.

Hachiko was standing next to Hunare and Pandora, all fighting valiantly. Pandora was shooting electricity out of a set of gloves, and Hunare had a large cannon perched atop his shoulders.

He fired it into the swarm of Galra soldiers, and Pandora shot electric bolts at them. "What crushed those soldiers?"

"A girl named Silver," Pandora told him, between tossing a charged blast into the midst.

He shrugged, and continued slicing at the Galra soldiers with his mechanical hand.

After the battle...

Alma scanned the fallen bodies. Over a hundred of their own died. The Galra were getting braver. Stronger. Smarter.

"General." She turned around. Leandro was there, perched precariously on a crutch.

"Leandro, it's good to see you up. Is Akira well too?"

"Yeah. So is Hachiko."

She smiles. "Good. Call everyone to the command center."

He nods. "Will do."

He turns to walk away, a small smile on his face. "Oh and Leandro? You fought well." He looks down, grinning.
