Alma crouched behind a tree holding five fingers up. Four.
Her grip tightened on the large blaster she was holding. Three.
Two.
One.
And then as she lowered her last finger, all hell broke loose. Hundreds of blasters began firing, her own included. Rebels burst out of trees left and right, trying to get in a shot, at the Galra soldiers swarming out of the building.
The green paladin began shooting electric shots at the Galra soldiers, stunning several on impact, sending the rest scattering over the dead bodies of their allies.
Several rebels fell screaming to enemy fire, clutching body parts, but almost 100 Galra had fallen, and no more seemed to be arriving.
Unfortunately it seemed that they had lost their element of surprise, because more and more rebels fell. Almost 20 were on the ground most not dead, but incapacitated.
Alma jumped out from behind the tree, blasting several troops.
Out of the corner of her eye she sees a silver flash, and then the Galra headquarters collapses in on itself, the screams of dying officers from inside. The remaining troops, look nervous, but continue shooting, taking down several more rebels.
A high pitched shout comes from to her left.
God, she was going to beat Silver's ass when whatever happened healed.
Alma took out another Galra, before sprinting to Silver's aid. She slid on the dirt, landing next to her daughter. "I thought I told you to stay back at the base."
"I wanted to help," she hisses, clutching her arm, where the bullet had hit against her arm.
Alma pried her fingers away, growling at the red blood leaking out of the hole. Alma glanced back at the fallen soldiers, the last one falling.
"Injured!" She screamed, several people answering. The remaining Rebels picked them up, loading them onto the truck, the General looked at the dead bodies, only 13 in total. They would get a proper burial, but right now her most important mission was to get back to the healers.
She picked up Silver, with admitted difficulty.
"Sorry ma," she says, then becomes instantly lighter.
Alma drove the truck full of injured rebels back to the healers, instantly met with med kits and healing pods.
Rowen stood to the side, but upon seeing Silver, she looked alarmed, and walked over hurriedly. "Alma Alzina, what the hell were you thinking?"
"Rowen darling, before you get too upset, I didn't know she came along."
"She's a child!"
"I am not!" She shouted, angrily. "I am old enough to make my own decisions."
"Silver, you're still my baby girl."
"Well can you patch my arm up, and bicker later?"
The women agreed, patching her arm up. It wasn't bad enough for a med pod, and would be mostly healed on its own by the end of the week.
"I'm sorry she got hurt," Alma whispered quietly.
"I'm sorry for yelling," Rowen responded, looking at the other girls shoulder.
"Do you want to head to bed?"
"Yah." The two girls left, linked at the arm.
