Smile For Me

Chapter 7

Eventually mum, dad and Layla left but my nurse was still here.
Me - excuse me?
Nurse - can I help?
Me - what's your name?
Nurse - Jill.
She gave me a warm smile. I anxiously looked down at my hands.
Jill - is something wrong?
Me - yes.
Jill - tell me. I can help.
Me - I need to get out of here.
Jill - I'm afraid you can't. I know Emilios plan. Police have him outside.
Me - what the hell!?
I sat up straight, my sight going a little blurry.
Jill - relax, sweetie.
Me - relax!? They better let him go!
I got of the bed a ripped the wires off me.
Jill - if you leave this room I'll have to call security.
Me - Since when did hospitals have security!?
I felt so mad I started to feel my face going hot and red.
Jill - calm down, sweetie. Sit down and I'll go get water.
I sat down. Is she really that stupid to leave me alone? She started talk what I would say is a hell load of shit so I listened but it I was properly acknowledging it.
Jill - now promise you'll stay here.
She headed towards the door and I waited until she was out of sight.  I whispered to myself.
Me - is Jill really that stupid?
I saw a spare pear of clothes with a note. It was a from Emilio. It read.

Dear Yn, my plan of escape might not work, but I want to try. There are risks and you might be confused but please trust me. Here's a hoodie and some trousers. I'll be waiting for you outside.
- Emilio.

I look around to see if Jill had returned. Slightly confused about why she actually left me and why this is all happening I quickly got changed. I scrunched up the letter from Emilio and tossed it in the bin. I turned to see Jill stood at the door.
Jill - I knew I couldn't stop you.
I tilted my head to the side confusedly.
Jill - there's nothing I could do to stop you.
She stood to the side and signalled for me to leave. I looked down at the hideous scar that had formed on my hand and took some deep breaths. I clenched my fist not wanting to look at how horrible my hand looked and headed towards the door.
Me - thank you... I guess.
I gave her an anxious smile before running towards the hospital exit.

I walked out of the hospital and quickly put my hood up.
Emilio - Yn!
I turned to see Emilio leant against the wall.
Emilio - we have to get out of here!
Me - I thought security had you?
Emilio - Jill only said that to try and frighten you out of not coming with me.
Me - why? Where are we going?
Emilio - to Rebecca's place.
Me - Rebecca?
Emilio - she's my older sister.
Me - oh.
Emilio - anything you want to get from home before we leave?
Me - an explanation?
Emilio - long story short Ivan wants to kill me and you.
My eyes widened in shock. Ivan was my friend and I could see how passionate he was about our small friendship just by the expression on his face.
Me - Ivan's my friend!
I didn't want to face the truth.
Emilio - he's dangerous.
Me - but he's my friend...
Emilio put his arm round me.
Emilio - friend or not he wants us gone, so we're gonna go in a nicer way.
I smile up at Emilio. I barley knew him but he feels like family.
