jahseh let out a small sigh, walking up the steps to nicks house, stokeley following behind him. when they made it up to the door, jahseh turned to stokeley with a frown.

"what if he's not here stoke.." he muttered quietly, eyeing the door and then looking back over at stokeley.

"jahseh, stop procrastinating and knock on the damn door, it's cold as fuck" stokeley snapped, wrapping his arms around himself tighter. it was mid september, which meant it was getting chilly, too chilly if you asked stokeley. he hates the cold. jahseh mugged him and knocked on the wooden door, stuffing his hands back in his pockets when he was done.

jahseh soon heard footsteps nearing the door making him feel a little at ease for some reason.

the door opened and a distressed looking woman opened the door. it was nicks mother.

"jahseh?" mrs.simmons asked, opening the door a little wider so she could get a better look. jahseh gave her a small wave. her eyes then traveled to stokeley who gave her an awkward smile.

"good evening mrs.simmons, how are you?" jahseh asked politely. mrs.simmons sighed, her attention dropping to the ground and then back up at jahseh.

"not so good.." she replied. jahseh frowned. he noticed the dark bags that were under her eyes. her skin color also seemed a little bit lighter then usual and her hair wasn't in it's usual bun. instead it was down in small curls, slightly frizzy in some areas, the lack of coloration was much more noticeable.

"oh..i'm sorry about that mrs.simmons" he said giving her a sympathetic smile. she returned the smile with a forced chuckle.

"forget me, how have you been jahseh?" she asked.

"i've been well, i could be better-" stokeley coughed making jahseh turn to him and raise his eyebrow. stokeley gave him a look, telling him to hurry up. jahseh cut his eyes at him and then turned back to ms.simmons with a small smile.

"uhm, me and stokeley came by to check on nick, we noticed that he hasn't been to school in a few days and we just wanted to see if he was okay.." jahseh admitted. jahseh watched her smile drop and her eyes begin to droop.

"i'm sorry jahseh but nick isn't here..he hasn't been here in days actually" she sighed. jahseh furrowed his eyes in confusion. this wasn't like nick at all.

"do you have any idea where he might be?" jahseh asked hopefully but she shook her head sadly.

"i'm sorry but i have no clue, i was hoping that you might know.." she said quietly. jahseh shook his head. he wish he knew where nick was or else he would have been confronted him.

"just please notify me if you guys do find him. please. i came home a few nights ago to an empty house. no sign of nick nor any of the money i had saved up for this months rent. tell him i'm not angry at him, i'm just very disappointed.." she said sadly. jahseh turned to stokeley with a shocked expression on his face. stokeley stood there with his jaw clenched and his fists balled at his sides. how could nick pull something like this?

"i'll do everything i can to find him" jahseh said determinedly and then turned around, stokeley following behind him with the same look in his eyes.

mrs.simmons thanked them and watched as they began to walk towards stokeleys car.

"tell your mother i said hey.." mrs.simmons said to stokeley once he was down the steps. stokeley turned around and nodded, throwing her a small smile.

"will do mrs.simmons"

"there has got to be a way to find him.." jahseh mumbled frustratedly. him and stokeley were currently in his bedroom, brainstorming ideas on where nick could possibly be. stokeley sighed and held his head in his hands, trying to concentrate on the task at hand instead of how delectable jahseh smelt. everything stokeley would think of would somehow trace back to jahseh. it aggravated him so much that he hit up taymor a few hours ago, asking him if he still had any edibles left. that'd definitely get his mind off of jahseh.

"that's it!" stokeley suddenly said, standing up from his bed making jahseh jump up in surprise.

"what?" he asked anxiously, now standing in front of stokeley. stokeley remembered the conversation him and jordan had earlier that day. maybe nick was at taymors house. he's one of the few people that stokeley knows who sells drugs. especially the kind that nick likes. although nick hated taymor, stokeley knew he'd put that hatred behind him especially if he was in need for some drugs.

"he's probably with taymor" stokeley said making jahseh furrow his eyebrows in confusion.

"why would nick be with taymor, i thought he hated him?" jahseh was so lost. why would stokeley possibly think that nick was with taymor? he absolutely despised that boy. stokeley placed his hands on jahsehs shoulders, staring directly into his eyes with a knowing smile.

"think about it jah, if you were on a drug binge and taymor was the only drug dealer that had what you needed, wouldn't you put that hatred aside to get what you wanted?" jahseh thought about it for a moment. it made sense but it also didn't. taymor wasn't the nicest person but he did have a soft side. nick must've had to do a lot of convincing before taymor agreed to sell him anything.

jahsehs eyes lit up and a wide smile took over his face. he nodded and pressed a quick kiss to stokeleys cheek and then jumped around excitedly. stokeley stood frozen for a second as he watched the other boy fist pump the air.

"we did it stoke!" stokeley nodded and let out a nervous chuckle. jahseh quickly slid on his shoes and grabbed his phone and stokeleys keys off of stokeleys dresser. he then ran towards stokeleys door, twisting the door knob. stokeley was still standing in the middle of the room staring at the wall in front of him with his jaw slightly dropped. jahseh turned around with a smirk.

"you comin stoke?" stokeley broke out of his trance and nodded, slipping on his shoes and digging around in his pockets for his keys. jahseh noticed stokeleys confusion and laughed. stokeley looked up at him with his eyebrows raised. jahseh dangled his keys in the air making stokeley sigh in relief and go to grab them but jahseh quickly snatched them away making stokeley frown.

"i'm driving"
