I choose to sit next to Kennedy
In science class next morning
She is staring at her hands
It seemed kinda boring.
"You have a lovely singing voice
I'd love to hear it again."
I say, looking in her eye
I want to be her friend.
She brushes the hair away
From her other eye
She tucks it behind her ear
She thinks I said a lie
"The music room, yesterday
After school was done.
You have a lovely voice."
She looked as if I had a gun.
She looked down
Hair falling over her face
When clesrly didn't know what to say
After a compliment about her voice's grace.
Then
At last
I hear her
Speak
"Thank you, Carlos."
