With every note she teaches me
She sings a small word
I don't know why
But I like the way she sings it
She calls it the vocal notes
The ones we sing to aim for a pitch
She says it helps when you play a note
On the piano
"Do re mi
Fa so la
Ti do."
She sings
As I type each key escalating up.
"Do Ti la
So fa mi
Re do"
She sings
As I type each key escalating down
"Each piano key
Has a vocal counterpart
That's how you know
What to song and when"
She tells me with a smile
As I finish my piano lesson
From the best girl
In the world
