City lights were fascinating
That was what I thought
But now they've been suffocating
Since that time we fought
"Please don't let him let me go,"
I wished upon the twinkling stars
But I knew my chances were very low
Gone was the love I thought were ours
'Cause I couldn't see the stars alight
Here in the city, so bright at night
I loved colors, but since our fight
My life has been all black and white
There's too much light, too much light...
In this city, there's too much light!
Tonight, I despise the city lights
They obscure my view of the sky
Tonight, the city isn't a pretty sight
'Everything that happened here was just a lie
Now the neon signs are glaring
Down at my fragile frame
And the lit-up windows are laughing
Silently mocking my name
The glints and glows are scorning me
Quietly jeering at my sorrows
Why can't they just let me be?
Tonight, I belong to the shadows
