*Lacy's P.O.V*
*1 month later*
I've been good. I haven't attacked any of the snobby, rude nurses and I haven't attacked any of the irritating patients, even though the urge was beyond tempting. I taken all my medicine when told: I've drank every single drop of sticky, repulsive liquid and I've digested every single vibrant, chemical filled pill. I kept a fake smile plastered on my face 24/7 in order to convince the nurses that I'm 'happy'. I've been good... I've been desperately attempting to get out of this pathetic institution and I've put all my efforts into getting out of this prison. I derserve to get out of here and see Dad. God I miss Dad, I haven't seen him in so long and it's seriously killing me.
Currently I'm sitting in the main office, which belonged to Phillipa, the head nurse. She and the deputy nurse Brenda and the head doctor Michael were sitting in the office and I was sitting, waiting to hear my release date. "So Lacy..." Doctor Michael began, sitting up straight and looking at me with serious eyes, whilst his eyes scanned my file. "The amount of progress you've made is outstanding and we're all very impressed," he added.
"Lacy, as you've taken your medicine when told and haven't shown any aggressive behavior towards anyone, you will be released very soon-" Brenda began before my eagerness cut the end of her sentence off.
"When can I get released?" I asked, battering my eyelashes and plastering a fake smile on my face. Phillipa, Brenda and Michael all exchanged looks and I heard some breif whispering amongst them. "Lacy... as we feel that you've improved a lot, me, Nurse Brenda and Doctor Michael agree that you can get released .... today." Phillipa announced. I let out a breath which I didn't even realise I was holding in.
"Really?!" I squealed, a genuine grin spread across my face, the first genuine one I've had in God knows how long.
"Really Lacy," Phillipa said with a warm smile.
"Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou!" I yelled in happiness.
"Lacy, we're going to call your Father to collect you. Go to your room and pack your belongings and come back here when you're done," Phillipa said to me, whilst picking up and dialing a number on the main office phone, pressumably Dad. I bolted to my room, going as fast and my legs would take me. A few of the patients gave me funny looks but I don't care, because I'm getting released and escaping this prison-like shithole. "Lacy, no running!" scolded Wendy, one of the most horrible and nasty nurses, who worked here. I turned around and gave her a grin, skipping to my room, and she obviously seemed annoyed with my unhappiness. As I entered my room, I rummaged through my draws and packed all my belongings, clothes, books, make-up and a few family photo's. There were 3 photo's placed in the second draw, by the bedside cabinet, one of me and Dad, another of me and Jaime and the last was of me and Luke. I smiled and opended up the velcro opening of one of my teddies and took out my hidden lighter (when you're stuck in a place like this you'll learn some pretty bad habbits) and pressed my thumb on the lighter edge, allowing a brightly coloured orange flame to appear and I brought the hot flame to the picture of me and Luke and breathed a sigh of contentment as the glowing fire, burned the photo and turned it into a nothing but a pitiful, measly handful of ash. "Goodbye Luke," I whispered blowing the ash out of my hand and out the window. As I hastily packed the rest of my belongings I made my way to the main office. I knocked before opening the door and saw Dad sitting in one of the royal blue spinning chairs. "Dad?" I whispered, shocked that I was seeing my Dad for the first time in such a long time. "Hey baby-girl," he said, walking up to me and wrapping his arms around me. We stayed in embrace for a while, I've missed feeling safe in his arms and knowing that nothing's going to hurt me. "I've missed you," I whispered, holding back tears. "I've missed you too darling," he replied.
We both broke apart when we heard someone clear their voice, we turned to Phillipa, Mel and Doctor Michael, who gave small but friendly smiles at us. "Mr. Fuentes, if you could sign these forms, you will be able to take Lacy home," Mel announced, handing a few formal looking documents to Dad and it didn't take long for him to fill them out and hand them back to her. "Okay, Lacy once again we'd like to congradulate you on your progress and release and we hope you both have a nice day," Phillipa said as we exited the office.
