Dick's pov
Dick looked at the building he was about to enter. He still had no idea why Roy wanted to ask him a question face to face, especially when he could have called and asked him. He ran up the steps to the fifth floor. He walked down the hallways, looking at each door as he passed. 506,507,508. He stopped in front of a door. 512. He knocked and bit the inside of his cheek. If Roy didn't want to talk about Wally, what did he want to talk about? The door opened. "Dick! Glad you could come! Come on in! Jade and Lian are inside. We got back from the beach a day ago." "That's cool. You said you had something to ask me?" Dick said as he walked into the living room. "Yeah. Jade, he's here!" Roy shouted. Jade walked in with a giggling Lian on her shoulders. "Dick, I think you've met Jade. I don't think you've met Lian yet." Roy said as Jade and Lian sat on the couch. "Dick Grayson. Nice to finally meet you. Roy told me about you, but I don't think we've met. At least, not out of costume." Jade smiled. "Tell me about it. You were cute when you were smaller." Dick sighed. "Why does everyone say that?" "Because it's true, and you know it." Roy teased, poking Dick in the side. "You had a question for me?" Dick repeated. "Yes. As you know, we're not always going to be here for Lian, and I know it's a bit late, but we think she needs a godfather." Dick's eyes widened. "We want you to be godfather." Roy said as Jade passed Lian to Dick. "M-me? I-I don't know if I'm the best choice. I've got enemies, people who attack me. Why me?" Roy smiled. "Because we know you'll protect her, no matter what." Dick stared down into Lian's bright eyes, and smiled. "If it's what you want. What time's the date?" Roy looked shocked. "How-" "I haven't completely given up on Bruce. He's got some useful tech. Besides, Jade has on an expensive bracelet that I'm assuming you don't wear just for fun." Jade smiled. "7:30. Her bedtime's 8:45." Dick smiled even more. For once, since Wally died, he felt truly happy
