Happiest night

Dick's POV
     Dick decided just to stay at the apartment and watched over Lian while Roy and Jade got ready. He found that she was already worming her way into his heart. Currently she was playing with his hair. By playing, he meant putting bows and accessories in it. Currently, he had a pink bow on the top of his head, a star shaped clip dangling from a strip of hair right above his left ear, and a blue bird dangling down the back. She was trying to put a little red bow in. She lost her balance and started to fall. Dick saw and whipped around to catch her. She landed in his arms with a soft, "oof!" But was otherwise unharmed. She laughed, and clapped her hands. "Again!" She giggled. Dick let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He picked her up and laid on his back. He tossed her up slightly, putting her above him. She laughed as she fell. Dick felt his heart melt. He was really starting to love her, and this was only his first day.
Roy's pov
                Roy smiled as he backed up and finished his tie. He had checked on Lian when he saw her start to fall. He started to dart out, but saw Dick lunge and catch her. He smiled as he saw her laugh and shout, "again!" Dick really had a way with kids. And kids had a way of getting into Dick's heart. Jade walked up to him. "I think they'll be fine. Dick already seemed better than he did before. That makes me wonder how bad the Team's been treating him." She whispered. "I know, babe. But right now, when we have a night to ourselves, let's worry about us. We'll worry about him in the morning, ok?" Jade smiled. "Fine, but you know I'm not going to be happy with the Team." "If they got their heads out of their backsides, maybe Dick wouldn't be this bad. I don't think he's smiled in a long time." "Like you said, we'll worry about it in the morning." Roy took a moment to appreciate Jade's beauty. She had on a light green dress that went down to her knees, and had thin sleeves. She wore black heels, and a pearl necklace. She carried a small handbag that was covered with fake gems. Her long black hair was in a braid, and she had a small bit of makeup on. Roy checked his watch. 6:25. Jeez, it had been that long? Roy grabbed his keys and walked up to Dick. "Looking very snazzy tonight, Roy." Dick said. Roy was wearing a black tuxedo, a white undershirt, and a red tie. He had a red watch on, and he wore black shoes. "Thanks. Remember, we'll be back by 8:30, and don't let Lian have peanuts. She's allergic." "Will do, Roy. Now, you might wanna go before your wife kills you." Roy waved. "Bye, Lian!" "Bye, daddy!" Lian waved back.
Dick's POV
                   Dick waited ten minutes, then grabbed his keys. He grabbed Lian and put her on his back, piggyback style. He walked out to his car and opened the door. Luckily he always carried a booster seat for kids. He buckled her up, then buckled himself. He drove onto the street, heading for the movie theater. Roy had told him that Lian loved Disney, and the local theater was having a throwback marathon. Tonight was Mulan. As soon as he got there, Lian started bouncing. "What are we watching?" She asked as he bought tickets. "We're watching Mulan. She's a princess, just like you." Dick told her as they walked to their seats. Lian giggled. As soon as the movie started, Lian was quiet. She sat there, watching the movie. When Shan Yu came on screen, she starting sweating. Dick noticed and pulled her into his lap. She started to calm down. Dick began to hum a little tune, softly, Of course, and she stopped completely. After the movie was over, Dick looked at the time. 7:55. They ended early. Dick drove back to Roy's apartment and stepped in. Liam was holding his hand when she yawned. "Bedtime, Lian." Dick said, picking her up and putting her in her room. He waited in a chair for her to get done with her nighttime routine. When she crawled in bed, she held onto Dick's hand. "Will you come back?" She asked, a frown on her face. Dick smiled. "Of course. You're too cute for me to stay away." "will you stay with me?" She asked. "Sure." Dick laid on the bed beside her. She rolled over and hugged him. Dick was shocked. No one had hugged him in a long time. He hugged her back, and felt himself drifting off with Liam. He heard the door open, and voices. He closed his eyes. "What if she got hurt, or kidnapped, Roy? Dick never answered any of our calls." "Don't worry. He probably fell asleep. It's 8:25, and Lian had a tiring day. So did Dick. They might be in her room." Dick heard footsteps, and heard the door open. "Aww. Roy, come here!" Of course, that was when Dick's mind said, "well, time to sleep!" Dick drifted off, Lian still hugging his chest.
