AN: I want to give a little shoutout to my friend for helping me figure out what the heck to do next. Enjoy:)
So what do you do when you have no where else to go? When your own father gave you the look of pure terror along with his band members an girlfriend? When your miles away from your last home and have no one else to go to? You wonder around.
After exiting the bus and running for about 15 minuets, I stopped to pant and possibly throw up my lungs. Ive never been one to run for fun. After catching my breath I stood and looked around. I was beside two other buses and a few booths selling merchandise for the other bands. One booth had two girls seeling merchandise to a group of preteens with piercings and too much hairspray. The other was vacant while a boy was sitting behind the table, relaxing in a lawn chair. He had dark black flippy hair and lip ring on the right side of his mouth. His thumbs were taping away on a long black iphone that was resting in between his thumbs and fingers. As I passed I saw his eyes glance up at me, then a smile spread across his face. He stood and walked up to the edge of the table. He looked me over before calling out.
"Hey, you!"
I stopped and turned to him. Holy crap he is tall! He had to be atleast 5'11. That may not be tall to you but to my short 5'5 view, its like seeing a giant. His shaggy hair flipped just over his eyes and went past his ears a bit. I walked up slowly to his tent and stopped a foot or so away.
"Yes?" I ask.
"What? A boy cant talk to a very pretty girl without being judged. They say a girl judges wether she likes a guy within the first 7 seconds of talking." He says, leaning on the table.
"Is that so?"
"Yes it is. Now, I would like to know what your 7 second impression is of me." I sit back on my heels and put my hands on my hips.
"Your cocky, very tall, and think you can get any girl with the bate of your eye."I tell him, cocking a brow at him. He steps back, putting a hand to his chest like hes offended. I couldnt help but crack a smile at him.
"Yo barbie, strip clubs a mile that way!" A girl from the booth next to us snarls, pointing the other direction.
"I know, I saw you walking in there just yesterday. How much you make, two bucks?" I snap back at her. She squints her eyes at me and hisses at me but I brush her off. I turn my attention back to the boy. He was smiling down at me, half of his smile touching his eye while the other was kinda slow.
"What?"
"Do you wanna go walk around?" he asks me. I think for a minuet before answering with a nod. He smiles, biting down on his lip and I admit, its pretty sexy. He walks out from behind the table and waits for me to go ahead. I nod at his politeness and start walking.
"Wait," I say, stopping a few feet from the tent," arent you afraid someone will steal your stuff?" I quesition, looking up at him. He started laughing a little and kept walking. I ran up to him and stopped in front of him. "Look I dont wanna get you in trouble. If you cant leave then I can just," I was cut off by a hand covering my mouth.
"Theres no merch in that booth. We sold out yesterday and a new shipment is coming in later today. " he says. I glare up at him but relax. I wait for him to remove his hand but he doesnt. He just keeps looking down at me like he was gonna say more but forgot. I look down at his hand then back up at him, motioning for him to move it. He stares a little longer before shaking his head and taking his hand off me. "Sorry," he mumbles before continuing walking. Ok weird.
/Tonys POV/
"What the heck?!" I scream at them.
"We didnt know she was listening!" Mike yells back at me.
I continue pacing back and forth, running my hands through my hair as I recall what happened. She tried to bite me. She almost did! Whyd she do that? The look in her eyes, it wasnt hers. Could it have been one of her imaginary friends telling her to do it? Was it Jack?
"Tony calm down, she'll come back." Erin tries to comfort me from the couch.
"I cant calm down Erin! I have no idea where my daughter is and its all my fault!" I yell at her, feeling my face turn red with anger. She shrinks back into herself, keeping her eyes down on her lap. I sigh and close my eyes, running my hand through my hair and pulling on it. Who knew having a kid was so frustrating?
"Just call her." Vic suggests.
"She doesnt have a phone smart one. She wasnt allowed to have one at the Home she was at. The Home!" I yell, making everyone jump.
"Yeah what about it?" Jaime asks, giving me a confused look.
"Thats where I would go if I ran away from home. She must be there." I say, taking out my phone and heading towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Mike calls after me.
"Gonna call Mrs. Hilly, see if Delilahs showed up yet." I explain before stepping off the bus and closing the door. I walked a little bit away from the bus, ducking behind ATLs bus. But turns out I didnt need to call Mrs. Hilly.
"Delilah!" I yelled.
She jumped, turning to look at me from her spot on the ground behind ATLS trailer. She squinted before standing up and walking to me, a tall dark haired boy in tow.
"Tony, what are you doing?" she asks as she approaches me.
"Worrying sick about you. Where have you been?!" I ask, rasing my voice at her. She backs away a little before answering. "Well after hearing your little discussion on the bus, I felt like I needed to get some air. Some that wasnt full of hate towards me." She frowns, crossing her arms over her chest.
"You cant just go and run off like that. I thought you were on your way to Mrs. Hillys by now!" I tell her, thrusting my arms down. She glares at me before snarling," You would like that wouldnt you?" I stare at her in confusion. "What?"
"I think we should walk away now," the boy standing behind her says, grabbing onto her arm and gently pulling her back away from me. I reach out and grab her other arm, stopping him and her. "And who are you?" I ask the boy. He stops and says," Im Noah."
"Well, Noah, my daughter is coming with me." I say sternly before pulling Delilah towards me. She pulls against me and yells," Im not going anywhere with you!" I stop and give her a look that says'Your kidding right?' "Yes you are now come on!" I turn and start walking back towards the bus till I feel her jerk her arm free. My nails run across her skin, scratching her. I jerk around to see her hiss and hold her arm close to her chest. There are three long marks on her forearm, already red and puffy. Noah rushes to her side and tries to get her to show him her arm.
"Delilah im sorry I didnt-" "Stop! I do not wanna her a stupid little apology out of you." she says, giving me a mean dirty look. "I dont care what you dont want, I am your father and im sorry I did that but your still coming with me." I reach out for her other arm but she steps away from me.
"No im not!"she shouts, her voice cracking at the end," Im not going with you. You didnt even want me till you saw the nightmare I was living in. What says your not gonna change your mind and put me back in Mrs. Hillys? Its torture being there! Do you know why I was on the third floor? Or did she leave that out too?" I think back to my short time at the Home but dont recall anything. I shake my head. "She stuck me up there so I would be seperated from everyone else. She brought my food up to my room and didnt let me leave the third floor. Im terrified to be by myself." she whispers the last part to herself, laying her hand on her right thigh gently. Oh god, oh please tell me she doesnt.
Before I know whats happening, im running at her and wrapping her in my arms. She feels small and fragile in my arms, like if I squeeze too hard she'll break. She relaxs and sobs on my shoulder, taking a break to breath before sobbing again. I just hold her close to me like I did back on the bus. I feel something warm up in my chest when she wraps her arms around my chest and pulls me tight against her. So this is what it feels like to be a dad.
I love this feeling.
