Peter's POV

I sat up in my bed. I couldn't sleep. Adrenaline was rushing through me from the fight and from spending hours in my room talking to Kitty. She patched up my wounds for me and let me ramble on about the fight. She was a good listener.

I decided I wouldn't be able to get to sleep so I got up and went downstairs. My bruises still hurt but I felt a lot better. Probably from the painkillers Kitty gave me. I went into the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water, not turning the lights on. when I turned around I jumped and dropped my glass, catching it before it hit the ground. Clint was sitting at the counter on his phone and only looked up at me when I'd noticed him

"sorry didn't mean to scare you kid. Just couldn't sleep"

"Oh no its fine, uh, me neither" I said starting to relax

"I heard you got a little banged up, and I guess they were right" Clint said with a chuckle seeing the bandage on my shoulder and the bruise on my eye

"Yeah but I'm fine, just some cuts and bruises" I said scratching the back of my neck and setting the glass on the counter

"I also heard you did really well, congratulations, it's not easy to get a compliment out of Thor"

"Th-Th-Thor? Thor said I did really well?!" I couldn't believe it

"Yeah but he also said you should learn to follow orders" he smirked

I let out an uncomfortable laugh and finished my water. I said goodnight and went up the stairs, with his words replaying in my head. I couldn't help dancing a little while I walked to my room.

Kitty's POV

When I left Peter's room my watch buzzed "Kitty to Mr. Stark's office please" it said. I sighed and trudged to the elevator. I took it up 2 floors where my father's office was. I walked in and saw him sitting at his desk with his hand in his hair in frustration

"Dad? you asked to see me?" I said calmly

"Yes Kitty come on lets sit and talk" He said as his face softened. He stood up and walked over to the couches. I walked over and sat in the chair opposite of him, a lowly lit fire pit in between us

"sweetie I want to apologize for what I said earlier. I was out of line, I know you're good, I just wanted Peter to get some practice today. This fight would've been too easy for you anyways" He said, smirking at the end

I was taken back. My father didn't apologise often, but when he did, I knew it was sincere. I got up and walked over to sit next to him leaning forward with my elbows on my knees. He put his arm around me and hugged me

"I know you didn't mean to say that dad. I really appreciate you talking to me about it" I said returning the hug "but, I have to know something dad. When you brought me home for the first time, were you expecting that I was a girl?"

"Well Kitty, If I'm being honest the thought hadn't crossed my mind. I hadn't even thought about if you were a boy or a girl, I just knew I had to get you out of the situation you were in. I didn't care about what you were, I just cared about your safety"

My dad wasn't perfect, but god I was grateful to have him in my life. We sat and talked for while longer, and then both decided it was time for bed. He went back to his desk to finish some stuff and I took the elevator back down to my room

As I walked out I heard someone coming up the stairs. I was worried it was Steve and I was just too tired to wanna talk so I silently slid into my room. I creaked the door open and saw Peter happily dancing through the hallway towards his room. He did a perfect silent front flip and continued to his room, near mine. I silently laughed to myself and a smile spread across my face

He was so cute
