Kitty's POV
Today was the day of mine and Peter's date!
I was so excited that I woke up by 6:30. I went downstairs and made two cups of coffee, one for me and one for my dad. I walked down the stairs to his lab, still in my silk PJ shorts and a sweater. My hair was in french braids and I had fuzzy slides on my feet. I walked into the lab to see my dad standing up in front of a hologram, working on something. I set the coffees down, making a clink on the glass table. He turned around and smiled when he saw me
"Good morning Kitty, you're up early" He said walking up to the table and grabbing the cup
"Well I have something important happening today" I got nervous to tell him what was happening and lifted myself up on the counter to sit
"oh yeah, and what's that?" He asked
"A..... date?" I said almost asking
"...." We stood there in silence for a second before my dad spoke again
"With who?"
"..... Peter.."
He spit out his coffee, I couldn't tell if it was out of surprise or anger
"Peter?!" He asked, looking at me confused "Parker?!"
"Yes, and I wanted to tell you because you have a right to know, but I'm 18 so you can't stop me" I blurted out so fast, I'm not sure if he could even understand
"Oh sweetie I can stop you if I want," He said with sass "... but I'm not gonna stop this. I know Peter's a nice kid...." he trailed off as if he began to realize something "But I also know you're my daughter, and well...."
He trailed off laughing a little bit, knowing that I had definitely inherited my dad's 'eccentric' personality. He got quiet again and looked at me, he clinked our coffee mugs together and turned around
"alright well before your 'date'" he sighed "we can get a little work done, come help me with this"
I hopped off the counter and went over to help my dad with some lab stuff. It was nice working side by side with him. We worked so well together because we were pretty much the only ones who could tolerate each other. I've always felt like me and my dad had an important connection, we just understood each other. We joked around, designed some blueprints and just enjoyed our father-daughter time
After a few hours of hard work had passed, I went upstairs to start getting ready. Peter said it wasn't anything fancy, and to dress warmly. I picked out my outfit (below, minus the coat)
I took my hair out of the braids and brushed it a little. It fell down to my waist in loose waves. I went to my vanity and did my makeup. I looked at myself in my mirror and smiled, not at myself, but at the thought of my date with Peter. I looked at my phone and saw the time, 11:45. I grabbed my bag and went downstairs to the front doors, where we said we'd meet at 12:00
When I stepped out of the elevator, I saw Peter standing there, talking to the doorman. I started walking towards him, he looked so cute. He was wearing a blue button-down shirt, black jeans, and a bomber jacket. When he heard my footsteps he immediately turned to look at me. His eyes lit up as he looked at me up and down, and his smile grew a million miles wide. I couldn't help but smile back too, and I felt my cheeks heat up
"Hi Peter Parker," I said flirtatiously when I stood in front of him
"Hello Katherine Stark" He answered back "are you ready?"
He stuck out his arm and I slipped mine through it as we began walking out and onto the busy streets of New York
"So may I ask where we're going?" I asked him as we walked side by side
"Its a surprise"
"Peter!!" I whined
"Just wait we're almost there"
We walked and talked for about 10 more minutes until we finally arrived at an ice skating rink
"Ice skating?!" I exclaimed, nervously. I was never one to admit when I'm not good at something, but ice skating? Oh, I'm the WORST. I don't know why I've just never been able to get the hang of it. Peter was smiling up at the big Christmas tree that stood in the middle of the rink. There was no way I was gonna embarrass myself on our first date. I took a deep breath and turned to Peter
"um are you sure? There's probably even more fun things we can do" I racked my brain for a suggestion but came up blank
"What do you mean, this will be fun" Peter said grabbing my hand and walking up to the counter for skates. I tried to think of an excuse to not go, but Peter already handed the guy money for the skates. We went to the benches and sat down to put our skates on. I struggled with the laces, as Peter put his on easily
"Do you need some help?" Peter offered
"Um yeah," I said awkwardly. He bent down and tied my laces, I got goosebumps at the feeling of his hands on my leg. He helped me stand up and we walked to the rink hand in hand
The second I stepped on the ice my feet slid out and I fell on my ass. Peter chuckled and reached out to help me up
"I have a confession to make" I sighed "I am very bad at ice skating"
"Okay, so let me teach you"
I wasn't prepared for him to be so nonchalant about it. He grabbed my hand and helped me glide, but still, I kept falling. He moved his hand to my waist, which helped me balance better and we just skated around. Well, Peter skated, I just let him glide me around. We laughed and talked, enjoying the winter air
After a little while, the sun began to set. We returned our skates and grabbed some hot cocoa on our way back to HQ. We walked in perfect sync, with our warm drinks in our hands. Peter noticed me shivering and quickly took off his jacket to give to me.
A perfect first date, if I must say
