Rami and I headed back into the kitchen. My head on his shoulder his arm around my waist. I saw Sami pouring brandy into his beer while Rykie was rummaging around in the fridge. "Guys! Are you hungry?" She asked, her head still in the fridge. "Ugh. There's nothing here!" She exclaimed. "Want to go for a ride, we can pick up something? " She added. "Shhuurre." Sami slurred, spilling most of his drink on the table. Rami and I were both looking at Sami now. "I don't think he should be driving." Rami whispered to me. Rykie caught on quickly, "I'll drive!" She offered. "Ok!" Sami gave the thumbs up sign and grabbed for his beer before accidentally dropping it. "Arrgh." He growled. "It's ok, babe. We can't bring that in the car anyway." Rykie mused. She walked over to her boyfriend then and wrapped her arm around his waist. "Come on babe. I think you need some dinner." She winked. He smiled wanly at her as he stumbled over his legs.

"Rami, I just need to grab my bag. It's upstairs." I said turning to him. "Tell Rykie, I'll meet you guys outside." I added. "Sure thing." He nodded. I raced upstairs back into the den. I found my bag and went to reach for it. That's when I saw a prescription bottle wedged between the cushions. Rami Malek, it read. Dexedrine 25 mg. Take twice daily. I quickly googled it on my phone. ADHD medication. Can help the prescriber focus as well as combat depression. I read. I stuffed the bottle into my purse and raced back downstairs. I was alone in the foyer so I locked the door behind me before leaving the house.

When I walked outside, I saw Rykie pulling out of the garage in a car. A gorgeous cherry red.. Mustang? Sami was in the front seat with her. Rami was standing idly outside of the garage waiting for me. He turned then, sensing me. "Are you OK with the backseat?" He asked me. "Yes, as long as you sit next to me." I answered with a sad smile. "But first, I found these." I said as I pressed the prescription bottle into his hands. He looked down to see what I was giving him. "Oh yes, this is what I take to focus for school and it also helps me sleep." He explained. "I forgot to take my second dose today. I'll take it with dinner." He said, quickly stuffing the bottle into his pants pocket. Then he looked up at me, his eyes wide. "Do you think..." He started. "Do you think.. I'm... weird?" He asked. Wearing his heart on his sleeve now. I simply shook my head and kissed him on the cheek. "No." I whispered into his ear. "I like you just the way you are." I told him. "Just promise me you won't freak out again like that. Talk to me next time. I'm a good listener." I added. He smiled and nodded his head in agreement.

Just as we had finished our little heart to heart, Rykie had pulled up next to us. "Get in!" She roared with a laugh. Sami pushed open the door for us and moved his seat forward so we could sit. Once all four of us were buckled in, Rykie lowered the roof on the convertible and rode off into the wind.
