Sami pulled on his pair of jeans from last night. He fished for his t shirt off the floor. He ran a comb through his curls and then brushed his teeth. He borrowed his brother's sneakers one more time and headed outside to meet Rykie. He figured a drive with the top down would be just what the doctor ordered for his hangover. Some fresh air through his lungs. Clear his mind a little.

Rykie was already sitting in her car waiting for him. As Sami walked closer he could hear The Cure Pictures of You playing from her stereo. He opened the passenger door and stepped into the car. He turned to smile at her once he was seated. She smiled back. "Where do you want to go?" She asked him. "How about the PCH and then maybe to Zuma beach?" He answered after a moment. "Oh you want the scenic route." Rykie replied with a nod. "Yes, just views and you." Sami said with a wink.

Before long, they had reached the Pacific Coast Highway and the views were literally breathtaking. Rykie had to keep her eyes on the road, but she did catch a beautiful glimpse or two. Sami let his arm dangle along the outside of the car as he leaned his head against the head rest of his seat. Taking in the glorious views and the fresh air centering him again.

When they arrived to Zuma, Rykie parked by the cliff. The view of the beach and the sky both intertwined from up there was magical. Rykie unbuckled her seatbelt and motioned for Sami to do the same. She turned towards him and said, "if you want to talk about anything. I'm here to listen. Always." She said softly. Sami shrugged at first. Then he said. "Can we sit in back? I need some leg room." Rykie unlocked the doors so they could move to the back seat.

Sami started to tell her about how his dad got sick when he was young. Lung cancer. From smoking. Rykie nodded, now understanding why he hates that she smokes so much. Sami recounted the many hospital visits to his ailing father. And how each visit grew worse than the last. How he dreaded each visit, yet felt guilty for dreading it, because he knew he should go, to help his mother. "It's OK. Sami, please, you opening to me this way, that can help ease the pain. In time." Rykie said as she pulled Sami into her arms.

"Thank you." He said quietly. As he stared at a spot on the window, he continued to talk. "Rami never seemed to be quite as affected as me. I mean he was. He was sad about it of course. It was our dad who we watched slowly fade away. But Rami seemed stronger, somehow." Sami got quiet then. He continued to stare out the window. "Some people are better at hiding their pain. I know I was. Until Alexander found me on the bathroom floor, of course." Rykie said sadly. Sami turned to her then. He put his arms around her. "I'm sorry. We're a lot more alike than I could have imagined." He whispered into her ear.

Finally feeling reconnected after last night's fight, Rykie fell into Sami's arms. Sami engulfed Rykie's body with his muscular arms and pulled her closer to him. They started to make out in the backseat. Before long, things started getting hot and heavy. John Legend Save Room came on the radio. After a few hot and steamy minutes of kissing, the windows started to fog up. Out of nowhere, Rykie's car alarm suddenly went off. Sami and Rykie shot apart. "What's going on?" Sami asked, his lips smeared red with Rykie's lipstick. "I don't know." Rykie said as she frantically pressed every button on her keys. Nothing was working. The car alarm was piercing and somehow seemed to increase in volume with each passing second. Before long, Sami spotted a cop approaching the car. "Shit! The fuzz!" Sami said shaking his head. Rykie looked at him. "Wipe your mouth." She instructed. "Why?" He asked, confusion on his face. "My lipstick. It's all over your mouth." Rykie responded with a slight flush to her cheeks. "Ahahaha!" Sami laughed as he swiped at his mouth.

The cop tipped his hat and knocked on the back window of Rykie's car. Sami rolled the window down. "Yes, officer?" He drawled. "Everything all right in here?" He asked, a gruffness to his voice. Sami cleared his throat. "Yes, sir." The officer surveyed the interior of the car and finally seeing everyone inside was clothed, he coughed and said, "OK, well let's move it along. Families and children around. Take this back home." Rykie blushed and Sami nodded. "OK, sir." And with that Sami rolled up the window. "Let's do as the officer says, let's move this back home." Sami told Rykie with a wicked grin. They hopped out of the back seat then and moved to the front before turning the car back on. Finally, the alarm now silent, Rykie pushed on the gas as Katy Perry's Firework blasted from the radio. Sami started to lip synch while Rykie laughed the rest of the drive home.
