Rami and I were still dancing on the patio. Another slow song came on as I pressed closer into his body. SYML's Better. As I listened to the lyrics, I started to cry into Rami's arms. He didn't notice at first, then I looked up at him, my face tear stricken. He pulled me inside the house then. "Baby. That song." He started. "Did it make you think of me?" He asked, his voice soft now. I nodded, fresh tears rolling down my face. "You make me better. You're enough and you keep me holding on." He sang to me then. His voice confident and strong. He pulled me in close for a warm embrace. I shook as I continued to cry. I felt so emotional. I understood how Rami felt, because I felt the exact same way. "I don't feel strange or alone anymore." I whispered in his ear. He didn't say anything, he didn't have to.

Sami and Rykie had entered the kitchen then and saw the mess their guests had made. Beer spilled on the floor. The refrigerator door standing wide open. A couple making out in the pantry. "All right, People!" Sami's voice booming loudly now. He walked over to the stereo system and pulled the plug. The party quickly grew quiet. No more music to drown out his commands. "You gotta go! Now! The parents are headed back any minute!" Sami shouted. "We just got a tip off that the cops were called for sound pollution. You gotta go!" He lied. "Come on, hurry up!" Sami started pushing people out the door. And before long the crowd was gone. And Sami and Rykie, now left alone, stood in the middle of the empty patio surrounded by empty bottles and crumpled up napkins at their feet.
