Chapter Sixteen; The untold
<=>
'Using everything she had left within her, pushing through the heartache of seeing her soul mate dead before her eyes, she looked to Morte — the wizard who had ruined her world in front of her eyes. Around them their scene shifted and the once green grass began to die as thunder clapped in the distance. She suppressed an urge to scream and swallowed to push it down with the thick hatred bubbling in her eyes.
'Olivianna had never witnessed death in front of her and for the first for her to witness be the love of her life, she crumbled. The dark side that she had worked so hard to suppress were set free and the extreme power of it overcame her. She held to her wand tightly and lifted it 'bás chun luaith!' She screamed and watched as the mixed hues of black and green emitted from the tip of her wand where it hit Morte square in the chest.
'The wizard, through his untimely shock, dropped his wand to the dying grass he stood upon. The spell Olivianna had fired embodied him and he crumbled away into nothingness right in front of her very eyes. The remaining specs of Oykron Morte dispersed into the air around her and only when he was gone did she fall to her knees. She barely had the strength to pull herself over to the lifeless body of the man she loved, but her aching soul moved for her.
'Wet droplets coated Olivianna's cheeks as she mourned her loss in despair, reaching out she clutched valiantly to his hand and cowered over his body where she rocked slightly back and forth. All the while she thought about all they had been through together and prayed to Merlin for there to be another way. She would do anything to have the man she loved alive again and she would sacrifice anything for him.
'Reaching into her pocket she pulled out a small stone and clutched it tightly in between her and his hand. Underneath her lids she thought about him and only him. Her eyes remained closed as she felt herself slipping away into an abyss of nothingness. They remained closed when a blinding light engulfed them and washed them both up effortlessly. And they remained closed as she took her last breath while underneath her the man she loved took his first once more and opened his.'
Olivia pushed the thick lump in her throat down and she swallowed deeply. Her eyes were ever-so-slightly wet and she closed the fragile book in her hands, the pages glowing a soft gold colour.
Ron looked to her speechless as they both sat amidst the silence. They embraced it as they reflected on the words Olivia had just read aloud between the both of them. Ron's eyes searched for hers but she held her gaze to the book in her lap while she chewed on the bottom of her lip. Eventually he found something to say, "I don't understand, that's not how the story ended."
"I know it's not." She replied unsteadily, "that's why I'm so rattled. When I was told it as a child it always ended happily ever after."
Ron reached forwards with his good hand and placed it on her knee, "Not everything ends in happily ever afters, Liv."
She nodded, still holding her gaze to the book, "I don't understand why he'd want me to know this, Dumbledore."
"Neither." Ron admitted, "Have you read it to anyone else?"
Olivia finally looked up and fixed her gaze to where Harry and Hermione sat outside the tent away from them, "You mean them?" She nodded in their direction.
Ron too turned around to look as he faced away from them and looked back to Olivia with a frown on his face, "Yes, I mean them."
Olivia's hand clasped around the biggest chain around her neck and took a hold of Salazar's locket in the palm of her hand, he felt its beating pulse within and looked to the large lake they'd stopped at for the time being, "Would you?"
