Chapter forty-one; The Battle of Hogwarts, Part One

<=>

It didn't matter what else was to happen that night, Olivia couldn't lose anymore than what she already had. As she pushed herself through students and fought herself through the enemy she couldn't stop the tears from falling even if she wanted to. They fell like there was no tomorrow, an endless cycle of water.

She just about made it to the Room of Requirement before she collapsed into the wall, clutching the silver around her neck whilst she sobbed in agony. The war hadn't even been going for an hour and yet she had already lost so much in that sort space of time. All at the hands of Voldemort who would destroy everything to get what he wanted, to kill Harry and take back from Olivia what he had given to her.

She heaved for air as she landed roughly on the Astronomy Tower. Around her the barrier to protect them was going up, creating a white glow to illuminate the dark sky. Quite a few people had taken to the higher parts of the castle to assist from above and Olivia spotted Arthur Weasley with the twins and Remus easily.

"Remus!"

The man turned quicker than a bolt of lightning towards the source of the voice and his eyes widened in shock as he saw Olivia running towards him. He couldn't even get a word out before she wrapped her arms around him.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with Harry?" He asked her.

Olivia shook her head into his chest, "I told him I would find him, I needed to see you before the battle started."

Her tone was making him feel incredibly uneasy and he took her by the shoulders and brought her back to look her in the eyes, "You got into Snape's mind, what did you see?"

She gave him a sad smile, "What I've been searching for."

Remus' heart dropped, "Olivia—"

"—Whatever happens I'll be alright. I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am for everything, just in case."

"What do you mean just in case?" He asked, "Olivia you can't say these things."

"Remus!"

The two turned to see Tonks rushing over in a mad panic. She reached them out of breath.

"What are you doing here?" Remus stressed, "You're supposed to—"

"—Be at home with Teddy, I know." She told him, "But I couldn't stay at home knowing you were all here fighting."

Olivia slipped away from Remus and Tonks whilst they were to consumed in each other and made her way over to where the twins were stood. Their backs were towards her and they leaned on the railing, protecting a person from falling over the edge. Wordlessly she slipped in between the two and rested her elbows onto the smooth wood whilst watching the barrier form at the top, engulfing them in.

"Any thoughts?" Fred asked, his usual loud and confident tone gone.

Olivia spotted Neville Longbottom, Seamus Finnigan and a few other students down by the wooden bridge and nodded, "Yeah, I have a couple."

"Galleon for your thoughts?" George quipped.

"I don't have a galleon on me at the minute, George."

"It's alright, you can tell me your problems for free."

She rolled her eyes and mumbled under her breath, "How nice of you."
