Escape to or from darkness?

Chapter5: Acnologia arrives

Lucy's POV
I'm jumping up and down in excitement knowing that Zeref is getting a new chance at life in the world. I'm so happy I ended up tackling him in a hug which he stumbles back in surprise but once he regains balance hugs me back. The moment didn't last long though as an ear splitting roar pierced through the air. Looking up I see a large black figure in the sky swooping down towards the island. I look over at Zeref only to see him crouched down on the ground in panic and mumbling about something. As I bent down to calm him I caught wind of what he was saying "No it's him why? We have to get everyone out of here now." I decide to voice my thoughts "Who's coming? Do you know what's going on?" Before he can answer another much louder roar once again rang through the air then I saw it the black creature with blue markings had already reached the island. Now it's just flying above us with the occasional roar almost as if it's looking for something or someone.

Zeref/Zander's POV
"Acnologia." I finally voice his name out loud and I guess he heard me since he turned his large head towards us. "Wait that's Acnologia? Is he....?" I hear Lucy ask in shock and pause mid-sentence. Knowing what she was thinking I answered both her questions. "Yes that's Acnologia and he's your real father." Lucy falls to the ground crying "What happened to him? How did he come to look like that?" "Wait hold on! Acnologia is your father not Jude Heartfilia and what's the eclipse gate?! Why didn't you tell anyone Lucy?" Cana finally butts into the conversation while Master Makerov waits patiently for the full story. "Because until now our memories of each other and what happened before she passed through the eclipse gate was locked away." I answer for Lucy who's still on the ground crying in shock. After a moment she stands up wiping away any remaining tears and speaks softly but you could still hear the determination in her voice. "Zander we'll explain the rest later for now we need to find everyone else and find a way to rid of my dad." One final tear escaped her right eye at the last part but she still stood strong. Her chocolate brown eyes meeting with the other three pairs looking back at her. With a nod they split up in two groups to find the others. Makerov asked Lucy to go with Cana and for me to go with him telling Lucy he wants to find out more about me as a new guild member. When no one else was looking I saw Lucy give me a worried glance. I mouthed "It's ok." hoping to reassure her and watched her walk away with Cana. "Come on my boy she'll be fine." Makerov spoke up and I started following him as I responded. "So master what did you want to talk about?" I ask in a calm voice but on the inside concerned that he's already found out who I am. "I just wanted to ask what type of magic do you have." Now I'm mentally freaking out.

Master Makerov's POV
"Ever since this boy showed up with Lucy I've felt a dark aura. Just who is he?" I think to myself as I watch him hesitate on his answer. After a moment he finally answers "I'm not gonna lie I use dark magic." He says in a soft voice looking down. "So he actually admitted it and his magic can only mean one thing." "So I guess you already found me out?" He asks looking away. I respond calmly "Yes I know your the legendary black wizard Zeref." "Now that you know I'm guessing you wouldn't want someone like me in the guild." I watch as he looks away with a sad expression like he disappointed someone. "You were speaking with Lucy through telepathy when I asked you to join the guild weren't you?" I ask grabbing his attention back. "Yes sir." "So then I assume Lucy knows who you really are?"

Zeref's POV
He asks me and I look down at him in the eye. "Yes she told me to join the guild for a fresh start in life." I answer honestly waiting for his next response. "Then I don't see a problem with you joining the guild as long as this stays between me, you and Lucy but you'll still have to explain the background of you and Lucy's past to the rest of the guild." "Wait so your still willing to accept me?" I ask the master in disbelief. "Yes now on the more pressing matter of taking care of Acnologia. Any idea how?" "That's the thing the rumors about me turning him into a dragon and controlling him are false." I state while nervously scratching the back of my head.
