Peter's POV
Todays the day. I'm moving into the Avengers HQ. I have waited for this moment ever since I got bitten by that radioactive spider, and became the man I am today. Spider-Man. Mr. Stark was finally gonna take me seriously and there was no way I was letting him down. I grabbed my two suitcases and brought them out by the front door. Aunt May was standing there with glossy eyes. She was hesitant about letting me go, but we both agreed now that I'm 18 it was time for me to start making my own decisions. I was still going to be visiting whenever possible, not planning on letting this stop me from seeing the woman who raised me.
"Oh Peter I always imagined this day would come!" Aunt May said, tearing up. "I mean not this exactly, I more imagined sending you off to college, not sending you to a special forces organization, but same thing I guess"
We both shared a laugh at that, thinking about how everything has changed these past few years.
"I'm gonna miss you Aunt May. I promise I'll text you everyday, and tell you all about it! well not all of it, but the parts I'm allowed to tell you I will.." We both laughed again
I got a text from Happy Hogen telling me to get my ass downstairs cause he was getting tired of waiting. Good old Happy
Aunt May helped me carry my bags down and get everything in the car. We shared a hug before I hopped in with Happy and started on my way to HQ. I was bursting with excitement and anxiety, I couldn't wait to get there and begin this new chapter. I put in my headphones and drowned out Happy's annoyed groans.
We pulled up about a half an hour later, with Mr. Stark and three other people waiting for me. Tony snapped his fingers and they all collected my bags, I guess to take up to my new room.
"So Peter what do you think of the place? Pretty sweet right?" Tony said gesturing to the huge grey, spaceship looking building, I didn't even get a chance to answer before he answered for me "I know it's amazing. You know why? Because I designed it"
Still the same Tony Stark.
"So Mr. Stark when do we start our next mission? What is it? Do I get to wear my new suit?" I babble out, my excitement starting to bubble over
"Woah, woah, woah kid. You still gotta meet everyone. You gotta freshen up on some training too, don't get me wrong kid, you're good, but we still have to get you to Avenger level good"
I have to admit it stung a bit, but he had a point. I was joining a team of elite fighters and I was willing to do anything to prove myself to them.
Tony walked me through the house, showed me all the cool features and gadgets. It was the coolest building I'd ever stepped foot in
"Alright Parker, you are familiar with Steve, Clint, and Natasha" Tony said gesturing to the three standing in the kitchen, discussing something. I waved and earned a up and down look from all of them
"The famous Peter Parker, we've heard a lot about you from Tony" Natasha said, studying me from top to bottom as if dissecting me with her eyes
I stuttered out a few small wows and reallys. I was shocked that Tony had taken the time to even mention me to them after the whole civil war thing. I'm surprised and hit with a new wave of confidence. That didn't last for long though
"Ahh yes so we're working with the spider kid" Steve said taking a sip of his coffee, barely giving me the time of day
"A-actually-y sir, i-it's Spider-Man.... uh sir" I managed to stutter out, stilling holding my chin up. This rewarded me with a few nods from Clint and Natasha and a small laugh from Steve Rogers. Steve took one last sip of his coffee and began to walk out, patting me on the back on his way
"Good luck kid" was all he said before disappearing
Tony took me by my shoulders and turned me towards what looked like a large spacious TV room/living area where I recognised the mighty Thor sitting on a long orange couch appearing to enjoy watching an old re-run of the show 'Friends' with Bruce Banner reading the newspaper peacefully in a recliner chair
"Hello Thor, enjoying the new TV are we?" Tony said. Thor merely looked up at us and quickly switched to the sports channel. I tried tried to stifle my laugh
"It's interesting, uh, learning about what the human race finds, uh, amusing" He answered, acting casual
"Well I'd like to introduce you guys to the newest member and resident here, Peter Parker, A.K.A 'Spider-Man'" Tony said to both Bruce and Thor. They looked up and studied me, just as the others did, then Thor spoke
"He's so small" was all he said before returning his attention to the TV
Bruce folded his newspaper and stood up to greet me, making me feel a bit more welcome
"Welcome, I'm Dr. Bruce Banner. The Hulk, as some call me" He said shaking my hand
I returned the shake, and he returned to his newspaper. This place was interesting. I really did feel like a kid here, even though I just turned 18. Aren't I supposed to feel all grown up?
"Hey Stark, aren't you forgetting someone?" Natasha said from her spot at the counter next to Clint
"Ah yes, theres one more person that you're going to have to meet" Tony said, as if he was preparing me
"Who sir?" I asked curious
"My daughter"
