Being a Brit myself and reading fanfics wrote by Americans, it can all get a bit confusing.
For examples..pants. Now it's quite a simple word I know, but it has different meanings, like in America pants are leg sleeves (only way I can explain it without using a British terms) whereas in Britain if you say it where I live most people will assume you are talking about your underwear, knickers as I call it.
As you can predict there can be some hilarious outcomes.
So in Britain we call American pants, trousers. Neither are wrong, it just depends what you were brought up to say.
Personally I think Wattpad should have something that shows if it was wrote in American English or British English. Or more simply state it in your author notes. It can save some awkward moments in FanFics ....
Second thing is special occasions. In America there's Independence Day 4th July and Thanks Giving (sometimes wish we had Thanks Giving here. extra food!)
I find that these occasions always find their way into FanFics and that's no problem, but if you're reading a Fanfic and the main characters are British then there is a problem. Take One Direction for example, quite a big FanFic genre, living in Britain and are British but somehow they always end up celebrating these two occasions.
For example they'll be in Cheshire or Doncaster and somehow make their way to a 4th July parade? I mean what?

Short StoryHave you noticed that most FanFictions have reoccurring themes? That the same sentences appear all the time? Authors put their life stories in the A/N's? Now I'm not someone who complains a lot, but I just though I'd point them all out in one book...
