Two Months Later:

"Hurry up, we're going to be late to work, Avery. Do you always have to get coffee in the mornings?" Haylee asked, a little annoyed.

Haylee was my best friend, I'd known her since kindergarten. I practically grew up with her.

"Yes, you know I do. I need my coffee."

"Just hurry up and get in the car, Avery." I rushed over to Haylee's car and scrambled into the passengers seat.

"Haylee, we're not going to be late, its barely 7:30 and it only takes us like 10 minutes to get there."

"Shut up and let me drive, Avery Collins."

"As you wish, Haylee Millitello." I saw her shift in her seat, clearly annoyed. As she hates it when they call her by her full name.

Haylee was really pretty, she had dirty blonde hair that was naturally curly, but it was those kinds of curls that are just perfect and well-arranged. She had baby blue eyes, and she had high cheekbones, sometimes I felt jealous of my best friend, but I would soon get over it. She was also kind-hearted and is truly an amazing person and friend.

"We're here." She squealed with excitement, I loved Haylee but I had no idea how she could be so happy at 7:50 in the morning.

"I don't know how you could be so cheery this morning. Its a Monday and its the morning." I proclaimed.

"Well, I had a good night's sleep unlike someone over here."

We got out of the car and made our way to the hospital, she worked in the same area I did which was great and she helped pass the time when we didn't have much to do, we would talk and talk until we had someone to call in. Sometimes she changed to the nightshifts but she would mostly always be there in the mornings with me.

"Well, I guess it's time to work. I'll talk to you later then, Avery."

"Bye, Haylee."

"Haylee?"

"Yeah?" She said, we were on our way out of work and walking towards her car in the oddly spacious but creepy parking garage.

"Never mind, lets just get home. Before someone decides to kill us in the parking garage. You know like in the movies? I don't understand how you can work the night shifts and not end up paranoid walking in the parking garage alone at night."

"I got used to it. And nobody is going to kill me, Avery. You can calm down and stop being so paranoid!" She laughed a little.

Haylee sometimes came to pick me up for work when she didn't wake up late. I was tired and I didn't have to go to college that night and I was finally glad I was going to be able rest. I suddenly began to think about Mason and the morning I spilled coffee on him, and the same morning I had gotten the bruise. I was glad I hadn't seen him around anymore.

"Alright, let's just get home." I said.

I woke up the next morning and checked my phone. Haylee wasn't coming to pick me up this morning. It was weirdly strange without Haylee some mornings.

I finally got up and did the same routine I did every morning. I took a shower, put my hair up in a bun, and changed into my work clothes. I was still going to get Starbucks that morning. I knew Haylee was going to get mad that she had to wait for me at the entrance of the hospital, but she could wait, and I needed some caffeine in my system.

I got into my car and drove to Starbucks. I always thought about that morning. The morning with Mason, but never for too long.

"Grande Caramel Macchiato right?" Gwen said. Gwen had grown to know me over the course of the 2 months.
