"Seriously? Haylee knows you?"

"Haylee is my cousin."

"She's.. She's your cousin?!"

"She never did like to tell anyone we were cousins. She hates me, and doesn't really want much to do with me.."

"I can't believe she didn't tell me. I've known her since kindergarten! And I never heard about you! I love Haylee, but I don't know why she would keep this from me, its not like.." I stopped myself. I knew that if I had kept going it wouldn't be good.

"Not like what? Not like you would go after my money?" His voice was calm. His dark chocolate eyes were staring directly at mine. It was intimidating.

"I didn't mean it like that.."

"I know you didn't. Just forget about it, I know you're not after my money, or else you wouldn't have ran away when I tried to talk to you at your college."

"I'm sorry.. You gave me a bruise and I still felt bad about spilling the coffee."

"I didn't know, you should have slapped me or something." He gave me a smile and I just giggled a little. I didn't think this was going to be as bad as I first thought it would when I got into the limo.

"You're not that bad after all." I said, and he gave me a warm smile and turned to look out the window and was silent for the rest of the ride. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence, but it wasn't necessarily a comfortable silence either.

I felt the limo stop and Mason got out.

"Come on." He said, handing me his hand to help me get out of the car.

"Thanks." I said.

"For the dress, and the necklace." I said, and I felt his hand wrap around my waist.

"I had hoped you would like it." I finally realized where we were at. It was the restaurant De'Luco. It was on the upper east side of New York, I never came to this side of New York because I would never have the money to even dream of shopping or eating here.

"Mason Holland." The man behind the desk said.

"Is the table ready?" Mason asked.

"Yes, right this way." I could hear what people were whispering about.

"Who is that? And why is Mason holding onto her like that?" A girl said.

"I've never seen her around here before. What is Mason doing with her?"

"Who is she?" Was what I mostly heard.

"Ignore them." Mason said and kissed the top of my head. He was really tall and I was kinda short. I was 5'6' and he was like 6'0' I felt really short, but it was kind of nice too.

"What was that for?" The whispers suddenly stopped and I turned to look up at Mason.

"Shuts them up." I saw the smirk on his face.

"Wipe that smirk off of your face right now or I swear I will punch you." I said sarcastically. I realized he still had his arm around my waist, but I didn't mind it.

I felt his arm slowly untwine from my waist as we were seated in a more private area. There weren't as many tables around and hardly any people were back here, which was nice.

"I can see why you wanted me to wear this dress."

"You didn't have too if you didn't want too. I just wanted to get to know you better." Something about that made me nervous, and I didn't want to get my hopes up. I couldn't.
