max got into baileys moms car.
(mind = b l o w n)

"hi max" bailey said as she pushed some hair behind her ear. max looked at her and responded 'hey' back. he made sure to slur out the hey to seem like he was drunk.

the truth was, max wasn't drunk. he just wanted an excuse to text bailey. they haven't texted since the incident that happened a few weeks ago.
since then lots of things have went down. max got back with harper, and bailey got with rush.

|flash back|

"i'm sorry bailey"
rush said as he pulled her in a hug. bailey looked like a mess with tears staining her cheeks. she looked out at the rain falling into puddles. the rain made her tears blend in with the surroundings.

once again harper and max got back together. she knew she needed to move on from max.

while the rain continued to downpour outside, rush got struck with an idea. like a bolt of lightning striking out of the sky.

"hey bailey, why don't we fake date to make max and harper jealous... you know until they break up again."
rush asked her.

"do you think that is a smart thing to do..."
bailey said flusteredly.

"there's only one way to find out."

|flash back|

with that said, they started dating. rush felt guilty about this all but all he's wanted to do is date her.

bailey yawned at max who, looked at her over to her also tired. he used a light grip to pull her closer to him and she laid her head down on his shoulder. as her eyes slowly crept close max kept a sly smile on his face. he missed having her in his arms. he missed the idea of being her best friend. he missed the 2 a.m. texts. he missed the random rants during the middle of the day. he missed the memes. most importantly.
he missed her.

bailey slept on his shoulder till the car ride was over. once baileys mom pulled into the drive way of the mills house, max looked down at bailey one more time. he kissed the top of her forehead quickly whispered in her ear 'i miss you'. then he moved out of bailey's grip and allowed her to sleep peacefully.

max left the car after thanking bailey's mom for a ride. he walked into his house with a new happiness. he finally got a chance to see bailey again. that's all that mattered to him.
