You slammed the door behind you as you walked into Jungkook's apartment.
Your meeting with Namjoon had undoubtedly stressed you out to the max.
Your eyebrows came together at the sight of bags and boxes stacked in the living room.
When you got closer, your eyes widened at the sight of your name scrawled across the cardboard box.
You rushed toward the biggest one, opening it, and your heart sunk.
Your clothes were stacked neatly in the box, a jewelry box sitting on top of the pile of clothes.
Jungkook moved out your stuff.
-
Jungkook opened the door, exhausted from a long, stressful day of work.
He was surprised to hear clanging from the living room, and he grabbed the red umbrella beside the shoe stand, raising it up over his shoulder defensively.
He entered the living room, and dropped it upon seeing you frantically digging around in the boxes he had moved out of your old apartment.
Tears were rolling down your face, and strands of hair framed your face.
You looked insane.
"What the hell are you doing?" He asked, walking towards you and pulling you away from the boxes, but you clawed yourself out of his arms, returning to the mess as you dug through it.
"My ring." You whimpered as you threw around your shirts and handbags.
Your ring.
You were looking for your ring.
Namjoon's engagement ring.
"I put it in my jewelry box, but it's not in there." You sobbed, wiping away the tears on your face with frustration.
"I didn't want to move out yet. That's why I've been pushing it back." You said.
"Y/N." Jungkook said.
"I was never ready to leave." You added, shutting your eyes, letting a few tears slip out of your eyes, and they rolled down your cheeks.
"Y/N." Jungkook breathed out, reaching for you again.
"I still love him." You whimpered, slumping against the couch in defeat.
-
"Are you going to come outside now?" Jungkook asked, knocking on the door of his bedroom.
"Never." You deadpanned, shoving another spoonful of frosting into your mouth.
"I had Hoseok move your things to the apartment next door. I paid the first deposit, and if you want, I'll help you look for the ring in the rest of your boxes. It has to be somewhere in there." He offered.
You remained silent, and he could only hear the faint sounds of Grey's Anatomy playing in the back.
"Okay, I'll be waiting in the kitchen. Jimin's over and he wants to watch a movie, so just, come out whenever you're ready." He said, before patting the door, and walking away.
You hadn't realized the feelings you had for Namjoon. You had kept them harbored away, and it wasn't until today, when you saw him again that you realized that you'd hidden your feelings, not gotten rid of them.
They were still there, stronger than ever.
You sighed, wiped the dried snot from your nose, and stood up from the king-size bed, dusting yourself off.
