You woke up to the sound of your doorbell ringing persistently.
And you already had a sense of who it was.
"I'm coming." You grumbled, although it was too quiet to be heard by anyone.
Throwing your legs off the bed, you shuffled to the door, rubbing your eyes from sleep and yawning as you hugged yourself.
It was always freezing in your apartment.
You looked down at the monitor, shocked to see Hoseok, Jungkook's assistant.
The doorbell rang again just as you opened it.
Hoseok picked up a large bouquet of roses, and an arranged basket of chocolates and sample wines.
You looked at him, waiting for an explanation.
"Mr. Jeon wanted you to have these." He explained, handing you the heavy bouquet and basket.
You took them awkwardly, before frowning and handing them back.
"You tell that jerk if he's expecting forgiveness, he better come do it himself." You said, crossing your arms stubbornly.
"He's busy, ma'am." He tried to explain.
"Call me Y/N, that makes me feel old. And I know very well that he's busy with his ex girlfriend. I can hear them through the walls at night." You snapped, and Hoseok's cheeks burned a bright red.
"I'm not angry with you, Hoseok. I'm sure you know that." You said, softly, and he looked down.
"But I'm not ready to forgive him so easily this time." You said, your voice breaking, and you looked down, blinking the tears away.
"Have a good day." You smiled, giving him a small hug, before shutting the door.
You heard faint footsteps as he walked away, and you sunk to the floor, your knees weak.
You leaned against the door, shutting your eyes, and your heart throbbed in your chest, and your stomach coiled up.
You could feel the tears building up, but you held them back, composing yourself before standing up and pushing your hair back.
You took in a deep breath, and went to get ready for your day.
-
"She didn't want them, sir." Hoseok said, and Jungkook groaned, his hands coming up to his hair to massage his scalp.
"I thought she wouldn't." He mumbled, before sniffing and looking up again.
"You can have the basket, throw the roses away." He finalized, before turning to his laptop and typing furiously.
-
"Oh, sweetie." Jennie cooed, hugging you close to her.
"I told you he was a jackass." She mumbled, running a hand through your hair comfortingly.
"He said it so easily." You murmured, recalling how quickly Jungkook denied any relationship the two of you had together.
"He asked me to stay with him." You added, and Jennie clicked her tongue in annoyance.
"Take my advice, for once, and ignore the jerk." She said.
You furrowed your eyebrows.
"He's been my best friend since we were kids. That doesn't go away just like that." You said, although you knew that you couldn't forgive him.
"Of course it doesn't. And it won't be easy. I know. But once Namjoon left, you let him go in a heartbeat. You still haven't had a proper conversation with him since then. So, what makes Jungkook any different?" She asked.
