Xavier's home, is an average size house which is what I didn't expect. "This place is cute." I compliment while staring at a photo of him, an older women on his right and a little boy in front of both of them. The shimmer on the glass shows how important the picture was, which makes me wonder about why? There are other photos dotted around on the beige painted walls, but this one stood out the most. It is in the centre of the wall facing me and it fitted nicely.

"Thanks." Xavier simply says, a pearly white smile on his face. Following Xavier through his house, we come to a door under the stairs. Instead of the usual coldness of the basement, I'm greeted with warmth.

It wasn't unusual for people to have 'Man Caves' under their house, but what's shocks me the most is the cleanliness.  Nothing was out of place, no cans or food laying around. A 70" Tv mounted onto the black wall.

There are snacks, drinks, popcorn lining the back of the wall near the wooden creaky stairs. A small black fridge with a glass window next to it, showing of Pepsi and alcohol such as Vodka and Beer, Whiskey, Gin.

"This place is so sick." I exclaim, running over and jumping on a red beanbag, hoping  it won't pop. I make sure my  white hood is up and covering my face properly before carrying on.

A laugh emits from the guy's throats at my little excitement.

"How long did this take?" Wondering aloud, Xavier comes and takes a seat on the chair next to me.

"A while, I saved up, went on a shopping spree and then converted this place into my own place to chill." he says compendiously.

"So... are you gonna tell me what you worked as? Like this shit must've been expensive as hell."

A pause formed between us before he gave me the answer "Another time... when we both release our demons." He winks at me before turning around to take a pepsi of Dylan.

What did he know? Or what did he think I'm hiding?

Politely taking the Pepsi from Dylan I sit and watch the screen, Trevor on the chair next to Xavier and Dylan on the bean bag next t0 me.

They put on Deadpool Two, and they were thankful that I said yes an didn't ask to put on some romance film.

If there's one thing i'm not keen on, it is Romance films, they build up expectations of love, that'll never happen unless you're lucky.

"Hey, I'm gonna use the bathroom." I say, forcing myself up and climbing over the mess we've created, jackets lined the floor as when we flung them off when the room got to hot. Empty cans and sweet packets littered the floor.

Xavier replies with a calm nod, before zoning into the movie again.

The odd step creeks underneath my black Converse, my Billie Eilish hoodie hangs lose around my little frame, the hood covering my face.

My figure wanders around the house, on the search for the bathroom. Considering none of the guys told me anything since they were to absorbed by the movie.

The window's glass was as black as under the earth, a few specks of light poking through. The moon stands bright in the sky and the only sounds heard through the eery house are the sounds of my footsteps smacking the laminate flooring.

Coming cautiously round the corner, my eyes scanning the room for anything. The kitchen. Sighing, I walk through the kitchen unaware of my surroundings and stride to the door at the other end of the kitchen.

Thankfully, the door was the door for the bathroom.

The light from the moon shines through the window to my left as I stand softly in the kitchen. The kitchen island in front of me, my black phone paced their as I watch the stars twinkle.

Ever since I got out, I appreciated everything, how the stars would twinkle, the noises of other children, the birds chirping, the sun beaming down... from the littlest things to the biggest things. All are mesmerising.

Time goes past, and I'm still stood here, staring, thinking. Legs, conveying themselves around the island, to the kitchen where my view improves and the smile on my face enlarges.

The rustling of leaves travel to my ears and my eyes rapidly look towards the source of the sound. Wind howls in the distance, but is it the wind that was making the rustling... Eyes staying focussed on the bush, waiting for anything.

Suddenly, a flash of white. A flash of movement. A flash of... something: dog? Cat? Human?

A man.

A man...

What man?

His eyes, bore into mine. The deep brown focussed in on my light blue eyes. As if he could see into my soul, see all my secrets, my whole life. A quick shiver ran through the course of my body, the whole scene giving teh the creeps and the never ending questions.

Frozen in place. The two of us. Frozen. Staring. Figuring.

"Taylor!" I hear Dylan shout. "You alright? You've been gone for a while." He chuckles, worry underlining his speech.

Even his word can't knock me out of the trance I've been captured in. His eyes, why are they so powerful. So captivating.

"Taylor." I hear another voice: Xaviers. Again, my eyes stay.

It is something different, something weird.

Just his eyes i can see, the rest blended into the darkness. Eyes looking as if they're floating.

Contact on my left shoulder makes me jump a little to the right and my eyes to move of the eyes and onto the hand planted onto my hoodie.

"You okay? You've been stood here for a while." Xavier questions, his hand now off my hoodie.

"Yeah, sorry. I... umm... got distracted." The lie finally out, none of them question it. Just Trevor, leaning on the door frame, his eyes squinted as he tries to figure it out.

"We could tell." Xavier laughs, joined by Dylan and my cheek flame up in embarrassment.

"By what?" Trevor speaks aloud, no emotion in his voice again.

"The stars, they're so beautiful" I say.

"But you were looking downwards." his eyebrow raising.

"Yeah, I saw a cat." I lie, perfectly. He doesn't look convinced, but he drops it. Letting a silence fall over us

"Come on." Xaviers arm wrapping round my shoulders as we walk back to the room.
