Lance looked at the girls and shot them finger guns. The turned around in disgust and walked away. Lance's eyes caught a glimpse of a Galaxy Garrison poster on the wall to his left and he perked up. He caught up to his friend Hunk who had heaps of space science books. The two boys studied and studied for the test they had to pass to be allowed in the curriculum.

Lance decided he had enough studying for one night. He closed his pencil in his study packet to mark his place and he went outside through the back door. He looked up to the sky in admiration as a shooting star passed by.

Lance had applied to the Galaxy Garrison on the 15th of July. His letter telling him if he would be accepted or declined would come on the 19th. That day was today. He stood there with his family surrounding him. He was very nervous, beads of sweat dripping down his face. He slipped the letter out of the envelope. Slowly, he lifted the top part.

On the top it read congratulations!

He pumped his fists in the air while his family howled with excitement.
