Pidge, Hunk, and Lance were quickly becoming friends after the tree moment. Classes still went on as they had their personal goals. Then, one fateful night they joined Keith in the rescue of Shiro. They found the blue lion and fought and alien warship. They then went through a wormhole to a planet similar to Earth named Arus. They were greeted by Princess Allura of Altea and her royal advisor, Coran. Unfortunately, they had to fight back the Galra before they took over the known universe. Becoming paladins of Voltron, Lance, Pidge, Hunk, Keith, and Shiro worked alongside each other. There was arguing in the beginning but things worked out.

Pidge was amazed by the advanced technology and nature in space and Lance was still flirting with aliens. One day, Lance was talking to Allura in the mess hall. Pidge was in there decoding information they had got from their most recent trip. The two laughed, and Pidge looked up. She saw Lance happy and blushed.

If only I can create a smile like that on him.

She clasped her hand against itself while a small blush crept onto her face. She smiled, nonetheless, and went on with decoding.

Battles continued on and during one of them, Lance got injured. His face was scratched up, he could barely stand, and he was bleeding on the lower left side of his torso. Pidge sobbed while Lance gave a stupid smile to the younger paladin. She held him close, not wanting to let go.

The healing process was very difficult for Pidge. She constantly stayed in the medical wing wearing Lance's jacket. Multiple nights on end she would sleep in there. One evening, Hunk brought her hot chocolate and a blanket. He let her cry in his arms. That's what friends are for, right? The same evening, the cryoreplenisher that Lance was in opened up, and Pidge jolted awake.
