Oh, and royalty, she was.

On the same day Embry commented about their love life, Paul had taken it into his own hands to make sure Iris felt special.

"Paul?" she softly called out.

It was silent. He wasn't home.

Iris had been staying with Paul and Jen. She still didn't have the courage to talk to the Cullens. Paul reminded her daily that he and his mom would be elated if she officially moved in with them, but she would only smile.

She shimmied out of the blankets and out of bed, walking around the silent house.

"Jen?"

There was no reply.

Where is everyone? she wondered.

Iris stepped outside the house, noticing a letter on the ground. She picked it.

Emily's house.

Iris pursed her lips in confusion, but decided to listen to the mysterious letter. She flashed to Emily's house, her excitement seeping through like a virus.

She walked into the house, immediately eyeing Sam, Emily, and Jared. Jared gave her a smile and nodded his head toward the kitchen.

Once she stepped into the kitchen, a basket was shoved into her arms. Iris looked at Emily, who was smiling like she was going to explode.

"The beach," Emily told her, keeping the theme of the night: mysterious.

Iris nodded and left the house, peeking into the basket as she walked to the beach. There were an assortment of foods, but Emily included Iris's ultimate favorite food: macaroni and cheese.

She spotted Paul waiting on the rocks. There was a picnic blanket set on the sand with four rocks on each corner to stop the blanket from flying away.

"You know," he started, not even looking at her, "I never thought I'd imprint on a lee - vampire," he corrected. "To be honest, I actually never cared much about imprinting. I liked being able to get drunk at clubs and bang any girl I wanted. Because, you know what? They liked having sex with me."

Iris didn't like that sentence. She frowned and wanted to smack him, but instead, she put down the basket and sat next to him - after having a difficult time climbing up the rocks.

"But, when I saw you in that cute dress of yours, covered in mud and separating Emmett and me, I just knew that you were mine," Paul said as he looked at her. "I feel like my first thought should have been 'Who the hell chases another vampire in a dress?' but instead, all I could think about were ways to forget about you. I never acted on it, but I thought imprinting on a vampire was the end of the world for me. But, really, you're my world."

Iris smiled. "You're cheesy," she mumbled as she rubbed her cheek against his shoulder.

He brought her in for a hug and stayed like that for a while. No words were spoken, but no words needed to be.

"I love you, Paul," she mumbled as she looked up at him.

He kissed the top of her nose, before moving onto her lips. "I love you more," he muttered against her lips.
