Slammed the front door shut with a BANG! Sprinted down the crooked alleyways, dodged every crack, every stone. The night came closer, it was fighting against her and used her as competition. The midnight blue was running with her, menacing formed shape in the stars. What was she going to do? The darkness came out and bit at the most fragile part of you.
She finally came to a place. A deserted place. The gracious trees were swaying from a distance, the fragile breeze breathed across . The grass laid on her feet. the rushing wind came swooping past, fresh air came as well. The river drew attention crushing and thundering against the river bank and used it as a punch bag. Humming birds were breaking the forbidden sky and all they did was keep an eye on you.
Amber sat on the edge of a slippery stone. The best place to watch the shimmering stars dance the night away. "Why me, hey?! Why is the whole world against me? I can be like every other girl but I don't want to be. I like being different! I like to stand out! But today I felt special because someone actually talked to me for once. Someone knew I was there. And to be honest it felt quite nice, it felt like I wasn't just someone who people walk over..." she stopped her speech and sharply turned her head. Leaves were scattering across the ground but you could hear something else more like footsteps. "Who's there?" Amber screamed but you could feel the haunting screams in her voice come back alive. "Come out!" The next thing you saw was the hazelnut pools that belonged to a boy named Jack Osbourne .
"What are you doing here?" Amber questioned.
"What? Am I not allowed to be in a public space?" he said with a cheeky smile.
"No. That's not what I meant." Amber said getting annoyed.
"But aren't you the girl who dropped all those books at school?"
"Uh...yeah. Sorry about that I didn't see where I was going." Amber apologised.
"I've never seen you at school before. Have you been hiding all this time?"
"Yeah. I like to keep my distance from people at school."
"Why? You seem so confident."
"I always am in the middle of the night. It's like it takes over me, I feel so alive! And I can't control myself, when I'm in the night."
He joined her on the colossal stone and they stared at the majestic ballerina's twirling in the black sky. His voice interrupted the peace and quiet, "You know earlier, when you said all that stuff. Did you really mean it?"
"Of course, I did. I never say something I don't mean. What's the point saying something you don't mean?" Amber pointed out while Jack formed a laughable smile on his face.
"You're actually really interesting person. Did you know that?" Jack stated. When he said that his face lit up like the sun, it was as if he found something really special,"well I better be heading home it's getting pretty late. Do you want me to walk you home?" Jack offered.
"Yes please." Amber said. It felt like they were walking for ages, the moonlit path guided them the way back home, the dimmest of orange glow sat in the street lights. " So what is your life like? I mean do you have any friends?" he introduced.
"I wouldn't say I am Miss Popular at school but I like to keep myself to myself. The only friend I need is the dangerous night. That's all I need, it brings out a side of myself that no one ever sees. I'm a completely different person."
"It must be hard though, having no one to talk to about anything."
"Not really that's what the night is for, like earlier I just talk to it about all my decisions or all my feelings. You could say that I explode like a fire-breathing cannon ball. You are the only real person I've ever spoken to."
"What about your family?"
"Oh, look that's my house. Thank you for walking me home. I had an amazing time!"
Amber scurried through the alleyway and hammered the door into the doorframe. After that, Amber thundered up the stairs and started to cradle on her bed and started to pour tears from her eyes. The rushing of guilt swam through her head. Memories were floating back and the feeling to worth nothing rolled into there as well. Crying the hardest she's ever cried and this is all because of one stupid mistake that happened a long time ago. The moment he mentioned her family, she wasn't as talkative. The sharpest of ice stares were back and the haunting screams were echoing in her room. She thought, "He had no right to ask me about my personal life and my family but he doesn't know, does he?"
The frustration and guilt was eating up inside of her and she's never felt these feelings for. And she didn't like it. Not one bit! Her surroundings now felt like a battle ground throwing herself to the enemy but instead she was throwing her things at the wall, not knowing what to do with herself. Pain and feeling hurt and damaged swooped right into her emotions again. Feeling that she's not safe with anyone.
