How It All Began

~ The Year 1668~

For centuries, angels have been hiding in the Heavens. Hiding their existence from humans and all the other creatures that graze the Earth, but still watching and protecting them from the sidelines.

They watched empires rise and fall, they watched humanity evolve, never interfering unless it was absolutely necessary. Until one day, an angel fell in love, more specifically the angel of war Caellum, with the women he was supposed to protect.

He descended to the Earth leaving the Heavens behind and hid among the humans. He spent years chasing after the women he loved until one day when something beautiful flourished between them.

They loved each other deeply and unconditionally. Seeing this, other angels followed in Caellum's footsteps creating themselves a mortal life amongst the humans as well.

They lived happily. Some fell in love while the others just wanted to enjoy the luxuries of the Earth. They were allowed to do this with one simple rule, to hide their angelic side from the human race.

As time passed, Caellum and his love created a life and a family for themselves. Everything was perfect. Until one day, when Caellum decided to break this rule, revealing his true identity and his wings to his love.

Of course, he expected a reaction but what he got was far more heartbreaking than he could have ever imagined.

At first, his love seemed unfazed by his confession, but as time went by, she was hypnotized by the purity and power of the angel kind. Just like every single human, she was greedy. She wanted all the power for herself, even if it meant killing Caellum and cutting his wings off.

After giving birth to their first born, she went into action. She revealed the angels existence to the human race. Manipulating them and using their hunger for power to her advantage.

Just like the Salem witch trials, she created the Angel hunt where the humans tracked down angels and cut their wings of, positively killing the immortal beings so they could inherit their powers. What they didn't know was that you can only inherit an angels powers if you have a pure heart or if you are a descendant of an angel.

Even though none of the humans matched the criteria, it didn't stop them from killing the angels. They thought that if we can't have powers, then nobody should be allowed to have them either.

After the death of tens and thousands of angels, Caellum made the tough decision that he had to kill the person who started all of this mess and return to the Heavens with the remaining of the angels. He had to kill his one true love, the mother of his child and the person who he once saw a bright future with.

After a long and horrible war between angels, who were lead by the angel of war himself and the humans, angels were victorious. They eliminated all the human threads and returned back to the safety of the Heavens.

They left all of their loved ones back on Earth, including Caellum, who left his half angel blooded baby in the hands of the humans and swore to never return to the mortal world again.

I'm just going to keep this short because no one likes to read the authors notes. So this is not a chapter but it's somewhat of a background story that might be useful to know for the future chapters. This is my first ever book on Wattpad and I'm so excited to share it with you!
