Chapter 6

Aura (POV)

We have been walking to the nurse's office that was on the other side of the school. Well... more like Ace carrying me while I stared at his face. It might have looked a little creepy but I don't care! He was definitely a sight for sore eyes.

We walked that way for a while. Me staring at him while he was staring straight ahead. Neither of us dared to say anything. I don't know why but what happened at the gym seemed a little too personal. It seemed like all of his walls dropped the second I got hurt. I don't understand why he behaves that way when I get hurt since we have only known each other for two days, but I'm determined to find out.

While I was lost in my thoughts, we have already reached the nurse's office. I felt the soft, white sheets as Ace gently placed me down on the bed. It was a small room with pale blue walls. There was a desk that was pointed towards the door with two chairs in front of it. While the hospital bed, that I was laying on was right next to the desk.

Ace dragged one of the chairs next to the head of the bed and sat down. We sat that way in silence, waiting for the nurse to arrive. After a couple minutes of silence, I thought that it would be best to say something that was long overdue.

"Thank you." I said fiddling with my fingers on my lap. Since he did not reply, I raised my head to look at him. What I saw was a pretty confused looking Ace. So I started to further explain.

"You know when you saved me from that guy the other day. I don't know what would have happened if you didn't show up, and I'm happy that I wouldn't have to find out. So, thank you." With that, Ace's face softened and he gave me a small smile. He looked exceptionally beautiful when he smiled. Ok, I don't think to obsess over a guy like this is neither normal nor healthy.

"My pleasure baby girl. You know I will always be there if you need me."

His tone of voice and facial expressions were so soft and caring that... Wait! Did he just call me baby girl! OMG! I mean, he probably meant it in a friendly way. You know, like in a brotherly way or something. But his face was telling a whole different story. It seemed like he wasn't sure that he actually called me that either. We stared at each other like that, me staring at his beautiful grey eyes while he stared at my hazel ones.

With that, he started to lean in closer, I too slowly followed through, leaning towards him. At that moment, I was not in any control of my actions, so I cannot be held accountable for anything that I would have done. It was all the fault of his eyes. They were so mesmerizing that I felt like I could get lost in them for the whole eternity.

But before anything could happen, the door suddenly flew open. Bringing us back to reality and making us jump apart.

Getting back the control over my senses, I turned my attention to the door. By the door was a young woman, maybe in her mid-twenties. She had dark midnight hair, dark eyes, and thin lips. She also had a white, long doctors coat on.

"Hello, I'm Doctor Lee. But you can call me Mae. Would you be able to tell me your names and grade?" Mae asked, sitting at her desk with a pen between her fingers while looking between Ace and I with a questioning look.

"Hello Mae, I'm Aura and this is ehmmm... my friend Ace. We both are in grade twelve." She looked at me, and then at Ace with squinted eyes but did not comment. Instead, she scribbled something on the paper in front of her.

"And, what may I help you with Aura; and her friend Ace?" She asked with a small smile, still fiddling with the pencil in her hand. I think she saw us almost kiss.
